Wait until the next week or so when several hundred thousand medical insurance cancellation letters arrive during round two of the 'not up to par' insurance policies.

So where are all the Obamacare supporters? Come on, people, chime in. Remember back when Obamacare was being debated and you were telling us how great it would be? Remind us why it's so great.

As far as I could tell, there wasn't too many people around that actually supported the ACA, except that many of us were very interested because we were hopeful that the ACA would actually be a single-payer program. But it was not.

Come to find out this was just a piece of trash program designed to screw the people and funnel the money to either the government (fines for not having a plan) or to the corporate insurance companies providing the plan.

Fascism at it's finest.

Although I do not support a single payer plan, your assessment of the ACA is correct.
It is a textbook example of fascism.

Well, I guess I can't win em all.

Personally, I think that a single-payer plan doesn't go far enough. But it was supposed to be a good start.

They can't set the rates until the feedback from the insurance companies arrive. Insurance has to analyze how the campaign contributions panned out in the elections in order to adjust the costs.

Actually they've all been asked not to do anything until after the elections, too.

After all, this is the year for employer mandate Armageddon and we wouldn't want all those nice middle class voters to find out they're getting screwed over, would we?

My sister and brother-in-law got dropped off his employer plan this year and they're scrambling now. Nothing offered from O-care is anywhere near as good as what they had (and they were very happy with it) even though the old plan "isn't good enough" for the O-care standard. It probably doesn't cover sex changes or something else equally ridiculous ...

And we're waiting to see which way my husband's company jumps ...

You could just tell the hospital to bill Nancy Pelosi instead of you insurance company. When they say they cannot legally do that, explain you could not legally vote for nor against her either but her cheerleading is what got this stupid law passed in the first place. That and she can afford it since she is allowed to legally engage in insider trading and has done so for years.

But don't they realize that this will all catch up to them eventually?

Yes, but by the time we have more elections we will have more bachelors, american idols, and survivors, also Kim Kardashian may have a new sex video. Who can keep up with campaign promises broken with all that other important stuff?

Which shows that the people now in charge of *everyone's* health insurance don't understand even the most fundamental mechanism of how it operates. Sure, the renewal period may be after the election, but it's not like the insurance companies sit around doing nothing until the day before. They calculate their costs, they calculate anticipated premium income, they review laws and reform their policies to conform, then calculate some more. It's an ongoing process, and the companies have legions of actuaries working on this year round.

So it's no surprise to us "normals" that *months* before the renewal period, cancellations, modifications, and premium changes are taking place now.

All of this was 100% predictable *and* predicted. All of this.

Politics play out like a broadway show.

What we are seeing is the opening narrative to a play-scant on details but promises a great show. Then the show starts and it didn't live up to expectations, but you still payed to see it because the previews were good.

Then we hear of another play that could be better value for money, and so the cycle continues.

Not only are the progressive-socialists withholding the rate increases of the ACA (affordable Care Act)
they are also going to delay the announce of how small the 2015 COLA will be for retirees
(if we even get a COLA this year under to be determined by ᴓbama at his leisure...recall he suspended COLAs in 2010 & 2011 for Austerity purposes ~ thus making multi Billion$ for Ammo to Libraries/IRA & militarized Police across America))

...Social Security recipients can anticipate a mild cost-of-living adjustment for 2015, with the annual benefit increase likely coming in around 1.7 percent.

That's an early estimate based on the inflation readings already in the books. The final piece of the puzzle, the number for September, won't be released until around Oct. 22. The Social Security Administration then will take another week or so to finalize its COLA figures....

Y'all just need to get on your ObamaPhones and ask him for a bump in your minimum wage. He'll set you up and you'll have ObamaCare covered, no sweat.

My insurance premiums have doubled since Obamacare, and my deductible has doubled. I fully support universal healthcare--but not a healthcare "tax" that continues to give big pharma and insurance companies all the power. In Canada, the government has reigned in pharma costs and provided universal healthcare....Obama gave U.S. a bait-and-switch where we get no universal healthcare--and phrama and insurance companies double their profits.

The worst part: anyone who criticizes King Obama's edict is labeled "tea party crazy" or "racist."

Worse yet: We have a mainstream media who promotes Obama's disdainful propaganda--CNN, NBC, FOX....all of 'em are guilty.

Unfortunately, the folks that voted for Obama will continue to blame Bush for problems and label anyone who questions Obama's edicts a racist. I remember when democrats used to be the good guys--they are really mean these days.

The point of this Obamacare fiasco is to line the pockets of Big Pharma and Big Insurance. Itn has nothing to do with providing healthcare to Americans.

Can you remember when democrats were good guys?
