75 year old, Dick Clark, has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke in Los Angeles. Clark is best known as the long time host of "American Bandstand". He is expected to make a full recovery said a hospital spokeswoman.

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Longtime "American Bandstand" host and pop music producer Dick Clark has been hospitalized in the Los Angeles area after suffering a stroke, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

"He did have a minor stroke and he's in the hospital for that reason but he'll be fine," spokeswoman Amy Streibel told Reuters.

The 75-year-old Clark, who helped make rock music palatable to mainstream America with his clean cut nationally televised "Bandstand" has been one of the country's best-known television hosts since the show's debut in the 1950s.

Clark, while hosting American Bandstand, helped launch the careers of Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Chubby Checker. He was also known for hosting the "Rock-n- New Years Eve Party" in New York City and counting down as the "ball" dropped bringing in the new year. I wonder if he'll be able to make that appearance this year?

Im with Gazrok,

This is just a fake cover story to make you believe Dick Clark is human.

He is actually the first member of an arriving alien fleet. They all live to be 1000.

ummm...not really, I think he's a smug bastard, but that's just me.

I guess I'll just have to admit I'm cold hearted and say I really don't care, he's had a better run of it than most.

He may not be a saint, but he sure did a lot for teenagers (my generation) with American Bandstand and i'm sorry you think he's a "bastard"

I agree with Gazrok on this one.
And, it looks like he'll be fine. Maybe they just need to recharge his battery.

But, Dick Clark outgrew his role about 25 years ago.
Move on already.
