i miss the old hanna barbara cartoons and the like.
i have never been a fan of the new school type cartoons like family guy and american dad, etc.

however, the tick was one of the best cartoons ever.

anyway, do you guys/gals remember the classic(as i like to call them) cartoons.
these are not all hanna barbara but a lot are.

starting with my favorite....the man(dog), hong kong phooey

some other fav's of mine

underdog
magilla gorilla
grape ape
quick draw mcgraw
huckleberry hound

those cartoons were awesome. just wanted to get people talking about them again

grape ape cruising around on top of the van always cracked me up

edit*

the tick. one of the best ever.....imo these will always be the best

i loved the way underdog kept his power pill in his ring. once he took his meds that was yo ass

Magilla Gorilla is my favorite Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The pet store owner, I'm surprised he didn't sell the place and retire.

I liked Huckleberry Hound too
For some reason I always preferred HB over Looney Tunes.

IMO they're leagues better than LT. I grew up with Looney Tunes fans in my house and friends. Never gave up on HB because they always made me laugh the hardest. Rugrats were pretty good, the animation and the way they portrayed the world through childish eyes captured the imagination we enjoyed in childhood (and some enjoy it still!).

I loved Cat Dog, the big bully in the leather jacket was hysterical. My favorite episode is when Dog became a genius and Cat was left with 2 IQ points or something

i guess looney tunes was ok.

i thought the animaniacs were their best work.

for some reason i thought these cartoons were on forever but some of them had short runs.

the tick was only 3 seasons. hong kong phooey was only 16 episodes. i thought i wwatched it all the time. guess not

the jetsons were awesome....

rugrats was pretty cool...

i am just not into the new stuff like sponge bob at all. of course my daughter loves it but its annoying as hell.

Same here, all the new cartoons are unappealing to me. Animaniacs I did watch when I was a kid (they featured Pinky & The Brain?).

I don't know if it's old school but I love the Simpsons, not the new stuff though up to season 17 or so.

operation mindcrime: I love R & S, they were so gross in a funny way back in the day!

forgot about that too.
ren and stimpy was awesome.

thats about it for post 1990 cartoons for me.

intrepid, i have never heard of that.

i didnt know some of these were that old. i knew felix went back away but it said his first appearance was 1919.

i like the old controversies too. it was a big deal all of a sudden about underdog taking his power pill.

there was a thing with mighty mouse for an episode too.

en.wikipedia.org...

Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures was the subject of media controversy when one scene was interpreted as a depiction of coc aine use. In the episode "The Littlest Tramp" a poor mouse girl attempts to sell flowers, and is repeatedly harassed by a rich man who crushes her flowers.[9] She runs out of flowers and makes new ones from sundry items she finds, such as tomato slices, but the man crushes these too.[10] Mighty Mouse attempts to purchase the flowers with his chunk of cheese, and to avenge the girl, but she gives Mighty Mouse the crushed flowers and insists that others need help more than she does. After successfully saving several different characters, he is reminded of the girl, and attempts to smell the flowers she gave him (now a pink powder), inhaling them in the process. He then finds the man that has been harassing the girl, and spanks him. The girl is sympathetic to the man, and he is so moved that the two are married.

Oh man....Astrix&Obelix!!

I have all of them....

I was pleasantly surprised with the new Asterix and the Picts (2013) and I think jean-yves ferri and didier conrad really equal Goscinny or Uderzo and I hope they'll continue for many years to come..

Peace

ETA: Maybe this is a long shot but while we are one the topic of french/belgian comics maybe you've heard of Gaston by André Franquin, got my first Gaston comic while in the hospital when I was 15 and laughing was particularly painfull but I just couldn't stop reading and laughing...

It's comedy gold!!

The original Inspector Gadget was good. I loved Penny's computer notebook. I can imagine years from now they edit the cartoon and it's an iPad
