You're most welcome. The Dounreay rabbit hole runs deeper than you'd think..

At the time of his death, McRae had been working to counter plans to dump nuclear waste from Dounreay into the sea. Due to his house being burgled on repeated occasions prior to his death, he had taken to carrying a copy of the documents relating to his Dounreay work with him at all times. However, they were not found following his death, and the sole other copy which was kept in his office was stolen when it was burgled, no other items being taken.[5]

But that's by the by. Your supposition is a good one, I think, when you consider the story from Hunterston a couple of days ago:

The spokesman said the government remained "opposed to the building of new nuclear capacity in Scotland" but the lifetime of existing nuclear plants could be extended to help maintain supply "subject to strict safety considerations" being in place.

BBC Glasgow

Hunterston is a nuclear power station, privately owned, and it was supposed to be decommissioned years ago BUT the owners insisted it was fine, and that 'new technologies' could extend its life even further. So yet another case of expired shelf life, but plodding on regardless.
