Don't come at me as if Jesus is a religion when religion he
clearly took a stand against. And yes I damn well do believe in Christ.
Because we are here on this blue earth, amongst billions of galaxies
and it just happens to be on the only one we know about, that can sustain
us perfectly and has continued to do so. The mathmatics of that by itself
can't even be fathomed so what's a freaking miracle?

So because we haven't figured out how all of this got here, you think the best thing to do is believe the tales written and forged by people a couple of thousand years ago?

Your answer is..... God did it.

OK.

Saves you having to actually think I suppose

Saves you having to actually think I suppose

Ya boy, big relief from back breaking labors of the mind. Coming to
grips with a more detailed and sensible account of our existence,
that includes a more superior intelligence interacting with us.
Instead of suggesting that we are it? Is far more believable all
the way across the universe baby.

I have no issue believing in a conscious universe or many other other possibilities, maybe even some unknown/unseen force in the Universe.... no issue with that at all.
Believing the Bible is the word of God and that Jesus came to take away our sins and perform miracles and is the son of God and this God sent him down etc... and this God is the force (of there is one) in the universe is just nonsense.

Believing in the Bible as the word of God and as an actual account of real events and supernatural goings on and miracles, is about as ignorant and closed minded as one can get.
You leave no other possibility..... just that God did it..... that's it.
Everything that can't be explained... God did it.... everything weird, wonderful and unfathomable.... It's Gods work and he created.

I don't mind if God is just the name you give to the "force" in the universe.... that's cool, I can dig.
But when this God then turns into the all knowing, all seeing, judgemental guy who sent his son and sent plagues and blah blah.

The bible isn't even original... it copies and borrows from many other earlier sources and works.

The Bible and "the possible" force or connecting, unseen theme running through the universe are not the same and you're following the wrong leads by believing the Bible and similar stories.

Hmmm of whom do I believe you or Jesus Christ?
I'll get back to you on that one. Gonna have to do a whole
bunch of research. Then there's gonna be all that pondering
and IDK how long it's all gonna take. But one things for sure
it won't be you.

Oh and thanks so much for letting me believe in God as long
as I do it your way.
That's very cool of you. And thank you for my
rights also!

god!

Why should I look it up, I know it's the truth. The guys a massive
unbiased brain on the subject and you can't bring one massive
brain to the table that disagrees with him because no scholar
is going to ruin his reputation because he's worried about his
meal ticket? I mean WTF you mystics can't tolerate reality.
Cracks me up how much it all seems to pain you. It's comical.

But you can at least stop asking now.

!!!! hahaha you can't be serious! You are kidding, right?

If I state a fact I usually offer whatever evidence I may have.
You have posted a video telling me about this guy who has enough evidence of Jesus having been real..... and you don't show that evidence??? You expect me to go get it???

hahaha there is NO evidence or you would have posted it immediately!

Nope, I don't and I have never said so. But if you tell me you have evidence, you've got to show it or it's not true.

You already dismiss the more detailed and timely account. That
makes far more sense then anything you or anyone else has ever
brought to the table, because of your own selfishness. What
good would it do me? If you really craved for the truth, you'd
turn over every stone and knock on every door. Haw haw haw
hee haw.

You really want me to find the truth for you?

Not gonna happen.

I simply back the man for his credentials. Which means you were right
about something at least. You don't know everything.

Got it: no evidence.

So let's go back to my original post: there is no evidence whatsoever of Jesus ever having existed.

In 2000 years when nobody mentions any of you...you will have never existed???
Christ does not need to be revealed to be true...
We have his words for that...
Saying he is fake by opinion does nothing to disprove his existence or his words...
Instead it comes off as desperate attacks against Christ and or his followers...
The funny thing is...if you choose to find him... you will...
Hatred and Pride are self serving lies Not truth...

For Christians, Christ is an etherical being. Always has been, always will be. Christ and an historical Jesus are two different issues. You don't Jesus to have a Christ.

seeing as Jesus is the Christ who's historical words have withstood the test of time...
Well...
I guess the books contained in the bible do not constitute history to you either...
Jesus Christ is in reality an actual historical figure because of this...
it does not matter if you can admit that to yourself or what other twist you put upon it...
Jesus does not need your approval to be the Christ...
nor is it necessary for you to see him to know his truths and thus know him...
When his truths become a part of you it is also true he then dwells within you...
this transpires in this reality and not in the ether...
So tell me again what Christians believe...

Nothing that Jesus (of Nazareth) supposedly said was unique or new. Everything he supposedly said and taught had been previously taught by others.

So tell me again what Christians believe...

Christians believe that Jesus Christ was/is Plato's and Philo's LOGOS There's no need to be an incarnate human to fulfill that role.

The Hebrew were quite familiar with taxation, and were counselled to obey the government of the city in which they lived.

Jeremiah 29:4–7
Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished. 7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Exodus 38:26
lA bekah for †every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for msix hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.

Exodus 23:4-5
4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.

"I am Horus in glory...I am the Lord of Light...I am the victorious one...I am the heir of endless time...I, even I, am he that knoweth the paths of heaven." 4
"I am Horus, the Prince of Eternity."
"I am Horus who stepeth onward through eternity...Eternity and everlastingness is my name."
"I am the possessor of bread in Anu.
I have bread in heaven with Ra."

I have given bread to the hungry man and water to the thirsty man and clothing to the naked person and a boat to the shipwrecked mariner.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone...

17 the two men involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the LORD before the priests and the judges who are in office at the time. 18 The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against his brother, 19 then do to him as he intended to do to his brother. You must purge the evil from among you. 20 The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you.

Were there judges present, or did the crowd ask Jesus to the judge? Were the witnesses being honest, or were they "bearing false witness"? If that's what Jesus thought they were doing, then, according to the Old Testament rules, he saved a lot of lives!

There is also the reference in the letters of Pliny, where he reports to the Emperor Trajan on his interrogation of Christians and what they do and ask what should be done with them.

Noticed I hadn't replied to this post, but yeah, Pliny the Younger (not to be confused with Pliny the Elder) is another good source I suppose. The letter is dated to about 112 AD. ==> www.earlychristianwritings.com...

Frankly, "lack of historical reference" is not a big issue anyway. Most of the few surviving texts come from Rome or Greece, and they are interested in hardly anybody outside Rome or Greece.
It's the same with the other provinces. We know the names of almost no Britons (from texts, as distinct from things archaeologists have found) from the whole of the Roman occupation.

Which is a good point. Not much talk of carpenters and nurses in the annals and chronicles of Rome at all really. And some of the houses we have dug up seems to have been damaged and then repaired or rebuilt at some point in time. Go figure.
