Government Bureaucrat Pleads GUILTY To Massive Fraud Scheme

Another one bites the dust.

This time it's a U.S. Housing and Urban Development loan specialist that apparently was selling off property and putting the cash in accounts that he could withdraw from.

He has pled guilty and the U.S. Attorney says jail will tune in at a few years.

Former Housing and Urban Development loan specialist Brian Thompson pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing $843,000 of taxpayer money in a wire fraud scheme.

Thompson was responsible for selling properties acquired by the government after borrowers defaulted on their HUD-guaranteed mortgages. Specialists like Thompson were tasked with ensuring the sale of these properties at the best possible price to reimburse the government for taxpayer funds made to mortgage lenders for insured loans. Instead, he funneled portions of the proceeds into bank accounts he controlled, netting himself $843,000 in the process.

So he might get jail time. But what about paying back what he stole? Perhaps his assets should be seized and if that does not pay the tab, he should not receive a pay check until every penny is paid back. A year or two in jail is easy time for almost a million dollars. He will also be rehired by the current administration because he has a mental problem. Go figure.

how odd, I once read on this forum that a bloke got 17 years for am offence involving a bit of happy weed. One could be forgiven for thinking working class crime is more punished that white collar crime.

In the UK crimes against property and corporations get the 'good news' jail sentences.

However the happy weed gets huge sentences which begs the question - where and who decides on the length of these sentences in the first place. Also why are they so afraid of the happy weed? or is it jesuit pressure if people can meet god with the weed jesuits not needed perhaps?
