Just came in. A fire has broken out at the Flight 93 memorial. Will update as details arrive.

Six fire departments have been called to a working structure fire at the Flight 93 National Memorial headquarters along Park Headquarters Road in Stonycreek Township, according to scanner reports. The fire was reported around 3:15 p.m. Friday. The Daily American has sent a reporter to the scene and will provide updates as they become available.

Flight 93 Memorial Fire

Those early pictures show what looks like fuel burning..or rubber even. Maybe it's a generator fire.
What the memorial should look like completed. I'm not sure that the visitor centre is complete yet, Whatever it's a place for people to go to and try to understand.

The good thing is, it's a stone memorial and shouldn't be permanently damaged as a result of the fire. I hope no one who might have been visiting was hurt.

Obvious questions to me are:

1) Looking at pictures, there aren't many trees near the memorial, what is on fire? Tree line seems to be several hundred feet from the memorial itself. Not sure if there is a gift shop/museum.

2) Who or what started the fire? Pennsylvania isn't exactly known for wildfires, but does seem to have rained near there today...lightning?

My money's on accident. There's a crane in one photo, maybe some construction is going on? Either way, will keep ATS updated.

That newspaper has sent a reporter to the scene.

Here is a construction webcam that updates every 15 minutes, if anyone is interested. You'll be wanting Camera 2.

Article states "working structure fire". Most definitely construction. Thankyou very much for the cams!

No problem, this cam feature is actually quite nice and provides a good bit of zoom.

Also, you should check the time lapse video. Just saw a wave of dust or smoke covering everything for a bit.

The flames were out as of 4:50 PM, according to the updated article. The North Headquarters was on fire, the cause is still under investigation.

UPDATE: Three buildings have been damaged.

I can't wait to review the quality security footage.
I hope someone has a Betamax tape player.

Found this little tidbit this morning:

"Until the area is declared safe, however, staff will not be able to access the collection storage area and determine the condition of any other objects," the park service said in a statement.

Flight 93 National Memorial fire destroys 3 buildings

So, maybe now the CIA has a few days to go comb through the buildings for something damning? Just speculating here.

The flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol on Sept. 11, 2001, was destroyed in a fire at a 9/11 memorial complex in Pennsylvania, authorities said Saturday.

In addition to the American flag, also lost in the fire were personal items of the passengers and crew members who were on board United Airlines Flight 93 when it went down in a field as one of four hijackings by al Qaeda militants on Sept. 11, 2001, the National Park Service said in a statement Saturday.

And all 3 buildings are considered a complete loss.

Here's another odd factoid...

The three buildings gutted by the blaze held at least 10 percent of the memorial's collection of artifacts, many in boxes designed to be fire proof.

Oh boy, so 13 years after the fact, those evil PTB went out and dastardly destroyed Flight 93 memorabilia and relics and documents so that no one can ever discover the truth about their evil plans and cover up of their super important mission shooting it down for whatever evil purpose they had, or faking a plane crash there for whatever super evil plan they had, even though the relics and artifacts and documents were available and seen for all those years to researchers, investigators, etc etc etc........ and important documents that were held and viewed that can unravel the Rube-Goldberg Machine intricacy of their evil Illuminati/Bilderberg/Zionist/Fascist/NeoCon/Freemason plans for world domination all secretly kept waiting to displayed in the museum for the whole world to see!!! All gone!!! Evil wins again!!! AAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
