But it doesn't have to be like that for ever...We can love or at least like or tolerate each other and enjoy a peaceful easy going and satisfying life which is natural and fun at the same time or we could continue being wild beasts and make hell after hell on earth while making tons of worthless pieces of paper and chunks of minerals for the profit of the elites so they can continue this age old insanity for a little longer... The choice is ours to make.

We are the top preds of this planet I think we can do it all. Our capacity for love is the same as it is to kill, so you can't just cut out one instinct. You might be able to hide it for a while but it is lurking in the shadows for the first opportunity to be free again.
It might be so,but throughout the history culture, philosophy, arts, literature, etc, have been trying hard to introduce and show people alternative ways to control and redirect that instinct to a more civilized and humane behavior so we could all enjoy the beauties of this world without being forced to wipe ourselves out of the map every once in a while.

The big question is whether what you suggest is an alternative or just an aspect of ourselves. Love one day kill the next without either in conflict. We are beasts in a sense, your ideas suggest that cows are superior because they do not also hate kill etc.

"To the extent we can shift away from relying on troops and rely more heavily on equipment-
That could present an opportunity."

Absolutely disgusting. But yet you won't hear a single talking head on the numerous cable networks say a thing about this.

That's probably because the quote isn't from a policy maker or even a defense industry official, but rather an investment banker professionally evaluating the market for investment. Is it clinically cold? Yes. But it is equally accurate.

I agree in principle that there are politicians more interested in padding their districts than they are making sound military expenditures. Perhaps we should use those relevant facts and not cherry picked quotes from investment bankers to whip everyone into a frenzy?

The acquisition system is clearly broken. You'll hear no beef from me about that. The blame lies on politicians who have determined the process, and who more awfully send people off to fight and die without giving them the best opportunity for success. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing right.

While defense contractors (and investors) are clearly making a profit on the war machine, the fingers need to be pointed at the "deciders".

I really don't understand how people can live with themselves knowing that they kill woman and children for profit. Its satanical. RIP.

Ok so isis cuts heads off anyone that disagrees with them what should we do?

The whole "beheading video" thing is meant for western consumption and to create outrage. In other words, it's a propaganda tool to get the public backing for more war against the barbarians. Makes you wonder why they'd do that, doesn't it?

Groups like ISIS, and the mythical Khorasan, that nobody had ever heard of, are nothing more than carefully crafted constructs to instill fear and disgust. After all, who wouldn't be outraged?
Trouble is, so many people just follow the flock and bay for revenge and action, rather than applying any analytical thinking, which is the whole aim of those behind it all. Those in the videos, with the masks and scary attire are not the ones orchestrating it all. The ones tasked with that job sit in air conditioned boardrooms and wear expensive suits. No, not the politicians, they are just the enablers dispensing the cash, I mean the real decision makers, the corporate money men and bankers.

If peace broke out all over, they'd lose $Trillions, and we can't be having that no can we?

A M E N to that!!!

I think morally most animals are superior to us and they definitely not love their fellow own kind animals one day and kill them the next, that is just stupid and unnecessary...This is what humans do ,humans also kill, rape and sometimes eat their own children but that kind of behavior is been seen very rarely if at all in animal kingdom...So what you are talking about happens just because we are the only animal that really thinks and dreams and creates stuff in our heads which in turn scares the hell out of us and then turns us into a bunch of fearful aggressive beasts that will kill for no real good reason,or just do it because we are afraid of being killed...Animals do not do it because they do not fear something that is only in their minds.

No one said that human would ever be a successful evolutionary trait, bad ones come and go all the time. One of my theories is that intelligence past a certain point becomes a detrimental trait because grass eaters do just fine with a pea brain and all that nasty stuff goes into the hunter...I guess we will see.

BTW all that bad stuff goes on in the animal kingdom more than you think, but for them there is no bad or good, just instinct and survival. As an example, a monkey doesn't get raped because the female has sex with a large number of males and lets the sperm fight it out for the most fittest.
