Having studied under a Dr. that worked in the CDC with Lassa Fever and Ebola my take is that this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion. Not sure why the media is being so irresponsible but it's business-as-usual for the blogging crowd. Ebola is only transmissible when the disease has reached the stage where symptoms appear --- usually after the onset of fever. No one ever said it couldn't make it to America. As the economies of African nations improved, as western businesses and interests took hold and, most importantly, as air travel became widely available we all knew it was only a matter of when not if. Ebola will not turn into a pandemic in this country barring a massively significant mutation of the virus which is highly unlikely. Did the Dallas patient come in contact with others? Yes. Will others in that contact chain get sick? Probably. But the hysteria around this is way out-of-scale and irresponsible IMO. There are a number of far less glamorous but infinitely more dangerous public health threats out there. Dial it back. This whole thing will be a 2sec clip in the end-of-year news replay.

The conditioning to accept this thing has been out there for ages. The Strain and Contagion of recent have been adding fuel to the paranoid fire. The Strain concludes next week - imagine that! Outbreak comes to mind as well, but that was a 90s Dustin Hoffman tour de force so most people didn't take "are you trying to seduce me mrs. robinson" to heart. The timing of the Strain is incredible though, you have to admit.

I've said it all on the threads of Ebola on ATS...ITS BEEN HERE. This is a manmade thing, and it just didn't get to the states. Whatever they tell us they knew damn well its been here at least a year. Think of timing versus release of information. AIDS was killing white boys in 1978 but nothing was really said publicly until around 1981 in the independent press. What we have is a combination of dishonesty from our government, corporations, and news outlets to provoke fear and panic so they can declare marshall law, or some other restrictive repressive bull#.

Ebola, is looking just like the AIDS Pandemic to me. People are going on and on about "countries not giving Africa help" but face facts - AFRICA HAS BEEN THE TESTING GROUND FOR THESE AGENTS SINCE DAY ONE. Like AIDS, Ebola has been specifically targeted for a certain demographic, and like AIDS it will mutate in kind with a little help from the lab. Think of how AIDS went out there and eventually was mutated and the conspiracies and proven facts around it. France had a cure and the US sued them to prevent them from releasing it. My father still argues they were experimenting with it on them in the Nam with it.

If people think this just "happened", they need to check the Tuskeegee Experiment, and look at the protocols behind the AIDS drugs in the 1960s first. Look at why they go and drop these things on black people first, and then spread it out to the rest once its been perfected. (AIDS is an anomaly, the white gay guys getting it was really to kill their movement and eradicate their protesting in public but that is another story and France proved the strain they got was genetically different than the ones black people were infected with).

Wash rinse and repeat people.

Remember the alleged Patient Zero AIDS guy. He was flying all over the place too right????

Interesting. My real fear with all of this is not the virus per se, good practices can take care of that pretty quickly. The real fear is the human factor and neglicence due to misinformation. The nurse sent the dude back to his home while symptomatic. If that same mistake is repeated a couple of times then contact tracing could become problematic just by the sheer numbers of posible infected people. Granted, at this point contac tracing is being done and will probably stop the spread there, but if that same mistake is repeated over and over (humans have that tendency) then who knows?

I won't argue that but, she works in the medical field, it should be her job as a triage nurse to know when it's something as serious as Ebola regardless of where on the map it is. Liberia is one of the hot zones, how could she not recognize the name in relationship to Ebola. I've just recently gotten home and I'm not caught up to the latest news and thought I saw a headline saying he had possibly lied.

In truth, Ebola is completely out of control which is precisely why its sudden appearance in a Dallas hospital surprised nearly everyone. The sobering fact of the matter is that despite all the money being spent on "homeland security," DHS has no way to stop Ebola from walking right into the USA, including on foot from our wide open southern border. If the U.S. government has everything under control, then why did the government just purchase 160,000 Ebola hazmat suits? Why did Obama just recently sign an executive order authorizing the forced government quarantine of anyone showing symptoms of infectious disease? Lie #4) The only defense against Ebola is a vaccine or a pharmaceutical drug

In a desperate bid to make sure Ebola generates billions of dollars in profits for vaccine makers and pharmaceutical companies, the CDC, FDA and even the FTC routinely censor truthful information about natural treatments that might hold promise (such as colloidal silver). Companies that offer extremely beneficial essential oils and colloidal silver products have already been threatened with criminal arrest and prosecution by the FDA. The mainstream media remains complicit in the systematic oppression of natural cures, printing the FDA's propaganda while completely avoiding any balanced reporting that might highlight the extraordinary anti-viral capabilities of many medicinal herbs as I've described in Episode Six of Pandemic Preparedness. Do not believe what the Government or the media is telling you. They are trying to brainwash you into thinking that everything is OKAY and Ebola has been contained. If I were a betting man, that is the furthest thing from the truth.

Any way to get a source on the CDC recently purchasing 160,000 hazmat suits? I am started to sincerely believe this is airborne now and they are not telling us.

Diseases and viruses etc are KNOWN to mutate and gain different characteristics over time. So it would not shock me at all.
