Didn't the California sighting post include some really
credible responders who said that the photo was
just a point of light with camera shake causing
the arc? That sounds very reasonable to me.

So I don't doubt there is a real picture of a point
of light in the sky. Which.. doesn't excite me very
much.. there are a lot of points of light in the sky.

FYI Arpad, I find a lot of your posts to be pretty
reasonable.. so please don't think that there are
all these people insulting you.. I'm certainly not..
i doubt anybody really is.. except maybe
accidentally.

Nice post. I relate to much of it, brother bear.

However, sometimes one just has to take the Jim Mosely approach to ufology.

Marvel at the seriously deluded, document the nature and bumblings of the hucksters, laugh a LOT, and always stir the pot.

Says that phone was released May of 2012. Anyway to figure out where most were sold? Prolly doesn't matter just curious.

Not sure how that matters, to be honest. The metadata has a time stamp from 2013. HTC is a well known, well used phone. Theres millions sold.

Well, if, say, they were widely sold in the UK and that streetlight turned out to be in the UK, then that's information to contrast, or connect, with biographical information for one.

Sure. Here you go:

I'ts actually not in the CA sighting post. I'm reading too many
posts I guess!

But you'll notice that it looks about identical, and more importantly,
I'm not a camera / photo buff, so this whole thing about how points
of light will always look like this, if you don't stabilize the shoot
was quite enlightening to me.

Your definition of identical and mine are very different. Being that it's not related to this thread or these pictures at all I urge you to reconsider you remarks a bit.

You are kidding?

A point of light tends to be seen as an arc
in many photo shoots.

That's the smoking gun right there.

What pictures are you looking at?

The pics i see show 2 distinct points of light connected to an object with a vague triangular formation with a brighter orbish light in the middle.

In one image it looks as if it's standing still in mid air... hovering.

In the next it looks as if she's spinning in place.

May also want to reconsider your definition of 'smoking gun'. You're way off base. The contrasts are starkly apparent.

Starred!

I went and looked up ***'s threads and I noticed his 1st one was also about UFO's and some pictures they took on a mobile phone back in 2010.

The pictures, which were linked from offsite, are now MIA!

But they did state in that thread ...

UFO sighting - mobile phone pic and a description of event

On the 10th of Sept. around 1pm (UK time) I was walking with a friend from their home to the beach when my friend pointed out what looked to be a brightly lit airframe travelling towards the area of sky the sun was.

So although it is from two different incidences, if one is looking for similarities and data points I think we can, for now, safely assume the pictures were taken in England somewhere during ...

My God. Did they?

Did they clone Elvis?

Elvis could actually be the captain of his own starship, The Hound Dog

We've achieved the apogee of all conspiracy theories.

Just can't believe it. Right now. Right now we are in touch with every conspiracy theorist that ever conspired to conspire a conspiracy.

Can you feel it?

We should celebrate.

I just realized! That means that Elvis could return!

Countless 'Elvis is still alive' threads have been closed due to ATS'ers trying to locate or contact people they believe are Elvis.

So thats why i say... don' go there.
This goes against ATS T&C.

Did they clone Elvis?

Not to get off topic, but Elvis was born with a clone/twin who apparently died at birth.

Everyone has a different opinion mate.
I think the 'air frame' you see is just more
of the photo artifacts.

Heated discussions are held all the time about whether
there are 3 points of light, a 'triangle' or 3 Chinese
lanterns.

I don't have any emotion about this like so many others
in this thread.

I'm just fascinated by the simple hand shake causes
points of light to turn into arcs thing, and see absolutely
nothing of interest in those photos. Zero. Nada.

I've seen hundreds of better photos that may or may not
be true.. and of course seen a 'real' 'triangle' point blank
myself about a year ago.

I just can't get excited about these photos for these
reasons.

Let's agree to disagree?

Starred!

Thank you very much as that link has led me to the following information ...

Camera Primary 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, check quality
Features Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face/smile detection
Video 1080p@24fps, stereo sound rec., check quality
Secondary 1.3 MP, 720p

And that data corresponds directly with this type of sensor ...

OV8835: Color CMOS 8-megapixel (3264x2448) Image Sensor with OmniBSI-2™ Technology

The OV8835 leverages OmniVision's newly improved OmniBSI-2™ pixel architecture to deliver best-in-class pixel performance to next-generation smartphones and tablets. It is capable of capturing full resolution 8-megapixel high-speed photography at 30 frames per second (fps) or 1080p high definition (HD) video at 30 fps with electronic image stabilization (EIS) and 720p high-definition (HD) video at 60 fps.

The 1/3.2-inch OV8835 is built on an enhanced 1.4-micron OmniBSI-2 pixel that delivers dramatically improved sensitivity of 1000 mV/lux-sec, a 20 percent improvement over the previous generation OV8830. Other performance improvements over the previous generation 8-megapixel image sensor include a 20 percent improvement in low-light performance and more than a 25 percent improvement in full-well capacity.

The new CameraChip™ sensor supports an active array of 3264 x 2448 pixels (8-megapixel) operating at 30 fps for zero shutter lag. Its 2x2 binning functionality with post-binning resampling filter minimizes special artifacts and removes image artifacts around edges to deliver clean, crisp color image quality for industry-leading HD video recording.

The OV8835 fits into an industry standard 8.5 x 8.5 module size and is pin-to-pin compatible with the previous generation OV8830.

Which has a real sensor size of ...

Pixel Size 1.4 µm
Image Area 4592 x 3450 µm

Where µm to mm =

1 micrometer = 0.001 millimetres

... means that the sensors real size in mm is roughly 4.6mm x 3.5mm.

I hope this helps!

At 1st glance that may seem to be the case, with a 1/14th of a second exposure rate exif data ...

Exposure Time |1/14 sec.

... However, please look at the lightpole and lightpole lights, in both color and b&w pictures, neither of which seem to exhibit such 'motion blur' for the the photo's containing the arc anomaly phenomena...

... Which implies that the camera was held still and it was the UFO that was moving fast and we may therefor be able to assume the the arcs were a single pin point of light at the central hub of the Black Triangular craft!

This would help us work out how far, measuring the diameter of the pinpoints arc and utilizing elevenaugusts provided equation to determine length, and how quickly, using the camera's exposure rate time, and therefor work out how fast it may have been moving at the time.

Whoa, you're either reading too fast or I'm too vague. I meant location of photos, not trying to figure out anyone's identity. But since you mention Elvis, it's a good place to start when discussing the creation of mythology…and possible UFO cults.

Read about the UMMO cult (folk were told when and where to see and take pics of UFOs and some did!) and SERPO in the brief wiki titled Planetary objects proposed in religion, astrology, ufology and pseudoscience

if you look at the highlight on the post in the picture with the blurred object, it looks to have moved in exactly the same way the object has

compare with the highlights on the poles where the object is not blurred

i'd say the camera moved in the blurred shot
