Im currently having problems with my cd rw/dvd rom drive on my laptop. When I put a DVD in it doesnt recognise it but cds work fine. Ive got the right software. Please could some one help

Gee;Tell me about it..I could use my DVD on my Comp...let's see....I think it was scince I updated my XP to SP2...or was it when I updated my media player to the 10beta,.....I suggest you boot out them upgrades and stick to what your laptop came with...trust me it's not worth the Hussle..

I think you should call your laptop company's tech support hotline. Sounds like a faulty dvd player.. hopefully you're still in warranty.

had the same problem..the problem: the IDE-Cable is broken..another one: switch the constellation of your HD, CD-ROM etc.. e.g. MASTER: HD SLAVE: CD-ROM SECONDARY MASTER: DVD-ROM..

I prefer also to switch your DVD-ROM as a MASTER drive..if you feel unsecure use CABLE SELECT.
