OK so back to the topic of the thread:

Armed intruder threatens staff, students at Sydney Islamic school

I pointed out in my OP that I feared this may start happening more often. I should have added that unless massive public education of the situation with ISIS and their relationship with the rest of Islam happens, more people may lose the plot and target innocent Muslims.

Education is the key here, an informed public is much less likely to make false assumptions and make reprisal attacks against innocents.

Also, I should have added that I hope the intruder of the Islamic School in Minto is punished to the fullest extent of the law.

(On a side note, I just realised that I did a carnival job at that school when I worked for an amusement company many years ago.Small world eh..)

This story should have been about what we can do to protect ALL innocent children in schools against ANY nut job that wishes harm to them but you have failed do so in your opening.

I did not because this particular instance is clearly influenced by the international events happening in the Middle East currently. Anything else would have been off-topic.

There are plenty of threads on ATS dealing with all the other school shootings, and other massacres, where that topic you described is covered extensively.

I'm pretty sure it's a lot more than "a deranged few". But, whatever helps you sleep at night.

From: en.wikipedia.org...

As of 2010, over 1.6 billion or about 23.4% of the world population are Muslims.

Yep, I'm absolutely certain that ISIS constitutes a very small fraction of that total population number, unlike you who has to resort to guessing and suppositions to support the bigoted view you parrot so loudly.

Every one of them believes the same book, worships the same God and worships the same Prophet that ISIS, Al-Quada, the muzlim Brother hood and every other muzlim terrorist group does...The terrorists get their funding from 'moderate, peace loving' muzlims...

That second to last video pissed me off. What the # right do the christians have carrying banners and wearing t-shirts telling the muslims they are going to hell for their beliefs.

I'm white, not religious but you pull that # at an event I put on and I'd #ing whoop your sorry ass. I'd not throw bottles or plastic crates either, I'd break your damn nose.

That's disrespectful, bottom line. You want to go peacefully assemble as christians that's fine, but don't go telling another faith they are wrong and going to hell or you're going to get that exact response.

Pieces of filth christians are.

Doesn't give the Muslims the right to throw things at them. What about the other videos? You don't care about those? Where the girl is asking question and the Muslims are telling her off?

Cry about it.

But, but...

Weren't some posters suggesting that Muslims don't have the right to free speech? That they have no right to preach and influence people?

So which is it? Either everyone has the right to free speech or we have a thread full of hypocrites.

Has anyone in this thread ever been to Minto?

This could have been over ANYTHING, Minto is a dangerous place, second only to Lumea in random crime in this area southwest of Sydney.

We (non Minto residents) don't go to Minto.. unless we ABSOLUTELY need too and even then.. never alone, that's just crazy.

But yes.. by all means.. paint it as they want you too.. but know this, Minto is a scary place even at daytime, not a place for a family picnic if you catch my drift.

it took 13 dam pages for someone to bring that up..... Deny ignorance eh..

Yes, several times. I mentioned a few posts back that I realised I had done a carnival job years ago at the Islamic School there. I don't remember seeing or feeling anything about the place that was particularly bad. It may have changed since then though.

Police release CCTV images of man linked to Al-Faisal College lockdown

POLICE have released CCTV stills in relation to the lockdown of an Islamic school yesterday.

A man armed with a knife entered Al-Faisal College in Minto at about 2pm on Thursday, and threatened a teacher and students.

It is believed the man spoke to a female staff member and left a short time later. He was last seen in Kitson Rd.

“The man walked in and asked some questions. He had a knife but I don’t think it was a direct threat,” Insp Kellert said.

“The school did the right thing and went into lockdown and called police. They locked the doors and the children were told to get down and not be seen.”

The man has been described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, 20 to 25 years old and with an obese build.

He was wearing brown/khaki pants and a green shirt at the time of the incident.

So if ISIS composes the entirety of 'the deranged few'. Then Westboro Baptist Church is the 'deranged few' of the Christian world. Got it.

It should have, it could have.

Well why didn't you start a thread incorporating all school sieges and/or lockdowns then if this is what OP should been posting about.

OP posted this story, the way they went about it just made you want debate and still now you have point out what should have been.

Go back in time and make it right if it should have been otherwise, discuss, debate this in a fashion where bigotry is left at the door or leave the thread, don't tell OP what they should or shouldn't be posting.

That is insulting to OP and to readers alike.

You believe this why?

Have you read something before that was also read by another but you both understood something different is being said?

Or are you a robot programmed like the drone beside you and cannot interpret things and writing your own way which might differ from your neighbors?

Isn't that always the case,

Minority groups are brought front and center media wise, why?

to manipulate the majority groups into thinking a certain way or to have certain facts known to them which dictates a persons thinking.

Minority groups are ignored until a voice loud enough is heard, when its heard and an opportunity is seen by other powers, then they will use the minorities against the majority.

Divide and conquer.

I guess ISIS and beheadings are just a construct of the evil western culture, to manipulate me into something. Or could it actually be that some psychos are just doing something of their own accord?

Mate, you obviously fail to understand what's going on and the threats that exist now.

This isn't about any one particular group.
It's about these people in general.
They don't need to belong to a specific group to do something. That's the point being made now.

What, did you think that these extremist scumbags wouldn't adapt their methods? Did you think they'd still try fly planes into buildings and do suicide bombings?

It's become harder to successfully carry out such attacks.
So now we are seeing an evolution, into lone wolf attacks or a handful of individuals involved.

Even more important, what you fail to understand is that there is no middle ground, there is no so called moderate islam that the left wing apologists have been trying to convince everyone exists.

Go research the recent Dutch study on muslims there. Go see what the shocking findings were. I'd hate to be living in the Netherlands right now and in the near future.

That 18yo kid in Melbourne who stabbed to police and was shot dead..he was born here I'd imagine, so what's his problem?
He's had every opportunity and chance as every other kid in Australia.

So where did he pick up the extremist mentality?
From his parents, his friends, his social circle, his religious instructors in particular.

It's how these people are raised.
They wont change. They wont adapt and assimilate and cease being a problem. On the contrary they will become an even bigger problem.

Having said that I don't condone what that guy did by storming into a school with a knife.
What should be happening though is the government should be rounding them all up and deporting them, cancelling passports/residentship/citizenship/whatever is necessary to get this people out of our country and never letting them back in.

The problems with these people are more then just the extremist threat they pose. But that's another story for another thread.

What's stopping the main Islamic groups, who are apparently peace loving people, from getting together, and issuing a joint statement, signed by each group, and putting it in a full page ad in all major newspapers across all major Australian cities to condemn the extremists?

We all know the answer, we all know why the 18yo who stabbed two police, why he and his actions were not condemned but instead they've hailed him as a hero.

We all know.

The difference is some of us are fed up, and aren't staying quiet anymore. While some are bleating out the typical left wing responses.

Why are parts of Sydney suburbs, inhabited by majority muslims, no go zones? Why are these areas unsafe to walk around in if you are a white Australian? Why aren't paramedics able to go into these areas without a police escort?
These people have no respect for Australia or it's people, sadly even the muslims born here are that way.

Enough is enough.

I want the Australia I grew up in back.
