Hi there,
What do you ppl make out of this? Anty gravity in India and there's again famous year of 2012.

link to news - Indiadaily.com

That's crock.

I don't see any remote reference to the physics involved, in the link, and the relation to the Hindu mythology isn't clear either. "News" like one in the link are easy to make up because you can't prover them wrong -- and there is no evidence either.

Seems interesting enough. It is possible but I don't see why they are waiting until 2012 to reveal what they are going to reveal. At the end of the articel it mentions how this anti-gravity device could be used in a military fashion. So if it were able to be applied to some craft, to make it fly, I think we would have the need for a huge EMP weapon. This way you take out the mechanism that is causing the craft to fly. Yay for EMP!

There is no way.

Gravitational force is not like electromagnetic force.

The article's only objective bits were contained in the diagram drawn. The diagram emphasizes electromagnetism used to counter gravity.

That is not "anti-gravity". Nothing we know now "cancels out" gravity.

While I have seen variants of this "anti-gravity" machine floating around the 'Net in various forms, the references to 2012 place this article squarely in the "designed to appeal to conspiracy theorists" category.

So in the spirit of our whacky little fringe community that seems to be growing in leaps and bounds, I offer a hearty "Welcome Aboard!" to India Daily.

so they used a levitating ring to levitate an object? thats stupid...

the ring part is 'easy,' thats been done with trains. the other part, um, no. thats just absurd. 'the shielding effect?' the shielding effect wouldnt do jack squat.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Considering that even energy is theorized to have gravitational effects (Einstein)... how do you "shield" against gravity?

you dont. simple. if you could, well, wed be doing other things instead of lifting rocks.

if you turn it up side down you'll get a puching force and what makes the thing float above it will then be used to pushe the object of from planet.

if you get a disk like craft take the ring upside down place it on the bottum of the disk and then the effects will result in pushing the ring away from planet. for as it can ensure loss of gravitation above it so things can float above it if you;ll turn it the force will stay but it pushes a different dirrection
the mass of the planet is to great and so it will force the base (ring +disk) away from the greater mass .

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but just electromagnetism and gravity only work in different ways because we our scientific explanations for them are imperfect, correct? If we had a perfect understanding of energy (unified field theory) we would perfectly understand the interrelation of the two forces and easily determine if it was possible to counter gravity or not. Am I mistaken here?

That part aside, I am almost sure that antigravity will prove possible, but perhaps impractiacl given enough time. The answer which immediately comes to my less than rigorously schooled mind is that with hyperdimensional materials and the ability to manipulate the gravity of material in higher dimensions, you could use forces in dimensions higher than 3 to lift a craft of dimensions higher than 3 in which we 3D beings can travel oblivious to the fact that the craft is listing heavily in the 4th dimension as a result of being lifted at only one point on the axis of its 4th dimension.
(I hope that was at least marginally understandable- I know that it was not exactly eloquent and extremely elementary as a concept. It's just that highschool chemistry and an incomplete reading of Michio Kaku's "Hyperspace" is the limit of my scientific education).

vagabond, as to your first bit, i dont know. they currently work independently because they are independent. being able to combine the two (four) doesnt necessarily mean that they become interrelated and that we can use one to counter the other.

as to your second bit, well, um, go for it? what guarantee do you have that forces act and are manipulated as simply as they do in 'normal' life?

Well.. it's an "editorial" and the editorials appear to be written by everybody and their Naga.

Let's see...from the site we learn that Britney Spears got a 48 hour sex marathon on her birthday (obviously written by someone who isn't aware that from the woman's standpoint, hours and hours of sex HURTS -- and unless they were mainlining Viagra, I doubt her husband could go for 48 hours, either), Al Qaida is outsourcing terrorism, etc, etc.

It looks like Yet Another Tabloid.

The UK, US, Germany, Japan and france all have some kind of 'anti gravity' project openly in the works and probably already operational for decades. If a country like india can build this tech than i am sure the western world will have already done it given the amount of cash pumped into black projects and science in general. It is disgraceful that the gov can keep such revolutionary tech from us unless it so dangerous or more likely its power source is so dangerous to let people know about.

To those that say
"nothing can be done to defeat gravity"
you are not opening your minds... we defeat gravity all the time... just not efficiently...
As has been pointed out, all the great worlds powers have projects that negate gravity to some degree, but the requirements are complicated and require specific materials with specific qualities to perform even the most basic lessening of weight...
but i have heard from inside sources that anti gravity is being used today in many black projects... whether these are still in testing or cruising our skys as we speak, is the real question...

I try my best to keep an open mind.

We can defeat gravity.

What I think most of us are arguing against is "cancelling gravity".

You do know that everything physical (even energy) has gravity, right?

Everything non-imaginary bends space time. Information theorists would even argue that IMAGINARY objects can bend space time (slightly).

Now, you see how the more effort you put into cancelling gravity within a system, the more gravitation forces you're ADDING to the system?

It's very easy for some of us to accuse others of "lacking the imagination of Einstein, or the Wright brothers," or whomever, but you must understand, before they started their imaginative designs, they had SOME background in physics. People claim Einstein was a bit "slow" before going to college. You must realize that he "got a lot smarter" before getting into college. He had a relatively strong background in physics before playing his "experimental mind games" to derive his theories of relativity.

So y'all need to study a bit of physics before criticizing the engineers and scientists on ATS for their supposed "lack of imagination". Our skepticism is well-founded for this case.

That being said, I could be wrong.

Everything in our known reality could just be a fictitious setting created by a higher being. Every law or theory we've ever constructed could just be a construction of someone else's imagination.

In that case, let's go ahead, let's break out of the box and cancel out gravity.

we can not defeat space/ time and we can not defeat gravity. But we CAN bend space / spacetime / and gravity.

if you bend gravity you will bend it away of the craft it will be in real zero gravity. because its bend away.

There have been more than three or four editorials on India and ET and all from the same web site. I smell a rat.
