Just another way of the government telling the people they are too stupid to take care of themselves.

No it's just another way to enforce a law that the PEOPLE voted on.

Germans also made it illegal to pick any flower that you did not grow yourself.
Rude to pick other's flowers yes, a crime, yes in socialist/progressive/liberal countries.
And this kind of thought is coming to a city near you thanks to the liberals!

Thank you for opening my eyes to this horrendous act. EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION!!! If you separate your trash you will turn into a Nazi!!!

Lord help me, but I'm going to have to agree with the progressive/commie/leftists on this one.

Breathe....Breathe. The first time is the hardest.

We had compost bins when I was stationed in Germany. We recycled, separated our trash, and it was a very practical approach.

Recycling is actually a good thing and it should be encouraged.

If you're placing food/organic materials in a different type of container, it actually gums up the recycling process.

They have only instituted composting here in the last 5 years. It's taking OFF. Like recycling did. The whole goal is to minimize landfill sites.

But that would require the lazy whiners to actually do something. It's much easier to sit around and cry about the Progressives.

Being a gardener I support composting; but not the naaaaa nies approach to the situation.

I compost because I want to, but Seattlites can move, just dump there garbage where ever, or pay the fines.

Hmmm, business opportunity here for a compostables removal service.

As a hunter, fisher, I would actually like less landfill sites. This makes sense.

Apologies for my posts.

I just want to add, as an evil, greedy, capitalist pig, whenever I carried uneaten food into the compost bin, what I saw were dollars being thrown away.

This is ridiculous.I doubt believe food should go to waste but I don't think that someone should be fined for it no matter how much it pisses me off that people do.I had a friend who was told that he would be fired if he kept takin the food the restaurant was throwing out.And he was given it to homeless families that lived under a bridge.

I somehow read that as toddlers being thrown away. I was like wow, Beez just got a little dark or too involved with the topic. I think the worst part is that I laughed.

Really unclear how my "brilliant" mind was able to screw that up, and it's probably only funny to me. You should have seen my face. Instant raised eyebrow, then started laughing, then thought, "Wait, no, that makes no sense!".

Perhaps it was the flyer sitting next to the computer.
