See this is sort of my problem with it. Ok you're proud of America, regardless of mine or anyone else's thoughts on that position that is how you feel.

Why then do you need to tell EVERYONE about it? It is inherently incendiary because it's just publishing your opinion in a public place- it's different to a flag in your living room.

I don't mean to be mean but does it not seem childish? A complete "LOOK AT ME!" mentality?

As I said it is her right and yours to say what you wish in words or with flags, but yet you want to criticize me for the use of mine. This is one of the problems in this country with your line of thinking, You don't want to hear it unless its something you want to say. The first amendment works when its comfortable to your ears, the constitution and its first amendment rights don't include the word comfortable.

Absolutely nothing wrong with putting up a flag to show pride in where you are from. Nothing. How many flags of all nationalities flying in all countries during the world cup? You should be proud of where you are from. In America, especially, you should be free to fly a flag from your country of origin.

If you want to talk about illegal immigrants, or the border or paths to citizenship etc. That's a whole other topic. In America, we have freedom. Yes?

To all those saying "...then go back to where you came from if your so proud of it.." I say then why don't you go back home unless you are a native american.

What's wrong with people these days.

Your absolutely right, there's a lot more wrong with "OUR" people. Because they are letting these things happen. We are all here from another country, in one way or another. But like I said, there are people who owned a business that flew like 15 different flags, the US flag was one, they got a hefty fine for the US flag, the rest is ok, another guy got kicked out of his condo, because he had one on his deck.

Now you tell me who has the problem. We are being FORCED to do something, that we learned to be proud of, that it's not ok now.

That's BS. The people that were "fined" we never fined at all, as the city backed off after pressure from Fox and Breitbart. The potential fine was because they were not flying the flag properly, from my understanding.

Also from Breitbart, the balcony flag was against the complex's policy and he was asked to take it down, but the management again backed-off because of pressure.

It seems that the flag-waving patriots in this country have become too politically correct and do not believe people should follow city codes or the terms of a rental agreement. God forbid an apartment decide that they do not want ANYTHING to be hung from a balcony so it doesn't look like 3rd world trash.

It's these loons that are the problem. They use their ignorant political motives to force the rest of us to comply with their beliefs.

Patriots they are not.

I personally find it offensive that ANYONE should tell anyone they can't fly an American flag here in the states.

Ya know when I was in school, we would say the Pledge of Allegience, (sp, sorry) and sing a song about America,

elementary school mind you. We were taught to be proud of it. I just can't believe that it is, or should be an issue.

Oh $hit, I just got put on a terrorist watch list, because of the way I feel about our flag. Now how FRICKKIN absurd is that???

I personally find it offensive that some people think they have the right to undermine personal property rights. People have the right to dictate what can or cannot be done on their property, including no flags, banners, dirty rugs or wet jeans to be hung over the balcony.

Remember, your rights (flying a flag) end when it steps on the rights of others (personal property rights).

Of course, my position is politically incorrect and unpopular. I simply find that one's need or desire for symbolism does not trump individual liberties.

The high school one is iffy I'll admit, but the school has the right to protect its students and they can do that by stripping your first. You do not get the full amount of rights in school, so you are not protected. Probably why every court has agreed with the school, but I'm sure they are just liberal socialist unamericans, screw the law when it doesn't go the way you want.
You can go all rah rah on me and scream america is the best but this country has many nationalities that helped found this country and they all deserve to express them self's.
If you have been in the military you would know that other countries flags are heavily represented by the people that serve, you know those very same people you are talking about that make the sacrifices you speak of.

And that apartment complex has a rule that no one can fly any flag, and the person signed the contract and knew about it. So again, rules are rules and the person agreed to them and is now trying to break them.
The muslim thing was a complete fabrication of the situation, no one said they were offended or threatened

I think you totally missed my point...........TOTALLY............But that's ok, we all have the right to think the way we

want. And we come here to express our opinions, whether right or wrong, considering what perspective we have.

Isn't that what it boils down to, we have to walk on egg shells to avoid offending someone, or god forbid if someone one should actually answer a question honestly. And we wonder why our socity is so screwed up.

Ok, to me, IMMHO, if someone says you can not fly an American flag where you do business,(If a business owner) or reside, they are ashamed of it, or communist. Of course, isn't that what the PTB want? It's all about control.

I guess it doesn't really matter.

Like I said in my first post, I don't care who wants to fly what flag, It's their right. I am not offended in the least. I am probably one of the last of my kind, do what you want, I don't care, try to force your ideas on me, theres gonna be a problem. Live and let live. People nowadays feel they have the right to tell people, sorry force their ideals on other people.

In the case of the apartment complexes, it is am industry standard to not allow anything to be hung on the balcony railing. Most will allow flags and such inside the balcony, though.

The reason this is done is to maintain a pleasant appearance and so the place doesn't look trashy.

or communist

Oh, of course. That is the most logical conclusion.

WOMAN WHO REALLY HATES MEXICAN FLAG LOSES HER JOB - AND IS FACING DEATH THREATS
A Southern California woman is out of a job and facing death threats after she used her cell phone to videotape an encounter with a homeowner over a Mexican flag flying in the homeowner’s front yard — and published the video on YouTube.

The woman, Tressy Capps, a political activist and a city council candidate in a town amid the Inland Empire’s endless suburbia, placed the video on YouTube on Aug. 11, 2014. “You know we live in America right?” Capps then says. “This is the United States. So, why are you flying a Mexican flag in your front yard?”

She then suggests that the woman behind the window “move to Mexico if you want to fly your Mexican flag.”

“Does that make sense?”

Capps also maintains in the video that the homeowners could face municipal fines for flying a Mexican flag in the United States. However, an attorney for Ontario, Calif. has since strenuously denied that assertion.

Just an observation.

It's a general policy that covers ANYTHING from being placed on the balcony. It's not that hard to understand why they would put one in place. It saves them a lot of time and trouble.

Of course, you do know that most complexes WILL allow flags and other things inside the balcony, correct? I didn't know that flying the flag on the railing of the balcony means you're more of a patriot that if you hung it inside the balcony.

I must have missed that part in school.

Sadly, it seems like it's people like me that seem to stand up for freedom even when it doesn't jive with my personal beliefs or tastes. Freedom is freedom and we can't pick and choose where it is applied. Are you too emotionally attached to the symbolism of the flag that you would rather encroach on someone's personal property rights?

Perhaps freedom is only for those that we completely agree with....and the rest are just commie scumbags that needs to be sent to the fema camps?

Your name also an oxymoron??? Cuz you seem to fit in with the sheeple.

We can agree or disagree, but we do not want to make this personal. Doing so only makes you look bad.

So let's stick to the topic, please.

I almost made the same mistake when I first read the piece.

So she got fired for using her first amendment rights? Yeah that sounds about right.

She was also an "ass" for trespassing and having the gall to tell someone what they could have in their front garden.

Or does your thinking also extend to say trespass... and violent action against abortion clinics?

I mean I dont like sunflowers do I go and jump onto anothers land? Oh I forgot...now your LEOs dont need warrants to bust down doors...and your LEOs go around killing unartmed civilians. hmmm...yep priorities

We have been off topic almost the whole time, and I do believe I made a simple comment, It doesn't matter to me who flys what flag, your the one who persisted.

Really, I look bad, ask me if I really give two squats.........go back and re-read my posts......

I'm done arguing. Point blank.........I will make my last stand
I UNDERSTAND that apt. complexes and such can have rules, I'm not a moron....it is their right, I understand that. but it is UN-AMERICAN to be TOLD you can not fly the flag. That was my whole point. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Well, I will agree to disagree. I think it's completely American to tell people they cannot fly a flag, if it is their personal property. I also think it's American to burn the flag in protest.

That's freedom.

You know what I DO think is un-American? I think it's un-American that somewhere around 95% of American flags are made in China.

Think about that my American friend, when you put your hand over your heart and pledge allegiance to your Chinese-American flag.
