The Aussies are assisting as well. Have deployed 600 personnel, including our special forces. They will be based in UAE. Will be assisting with air strikes and training Iraqi military, I believe.

As an American who is often portrayed as a Warmongering jingoist I'd like to say I'd rather see those countries with a ISIS vermin infestation take care of their own problem themselves.

Foreign boots on the Ground in their backyards?

No

Supportive Airstrikes and other non ground based non committal actions..?

yes

Unfortunately mate unless you bomb the whole of the city that they are hiding in small air strikes want be enough.
I still think that boots on the ground will be used but not yet.Every right minded person will agree with you but it will happen boots will go on the ground.

France surrendering to ISIS!! Very funny, got a Good laugh out of that one!! I'm thinking JDAM's falling on them has got to atleast slow them down and make them rethink their plans. I agree that it may not be The most effective way of stopping them, it's at The least a nice way to soften them up and keep them looking up for The next one to fall on them. Distract them for completing their stated goals. At this point it's way better than boots on The ground, although I feel this may just be an attempt to soften up The public for The idea of soldiers going in and eradicating these mongrels.

No boots? Bombs hit the ground, too. So France has now added themselves to the list of war crimes in Iraq (yes war is a crime) without a UN mandate. Of course this is a kick to MoreBomba's huge coalition theory. An actual participant in the ISIS crisis.

Members of NATO have been invading Iraq in one form or another since the early 90's. Of course this time this is being assimilated in our minds to justify eventual violation of Sovereignty of Syria, too.

I guess Iraqi invasion of their neighboring territory has been lost on some. They stuck their necks with their invasion and occupation and received an International smack down which included Syrian forces.

I hear and read that a lot. Time will tell. For now it's just more Doom Porn.

The daft thing is it was our army that gave up the fight, not the French. The British legged it from the battle, jumped ship and ran off to their island safety til the big boys Russia then USA (with us poodling along) destroyed the Germans. The French were the ones that fought on much longer than the the Brits on that continental battlefield in 1940

Anyway hats off to the French and Aussies for taking on these nutters. I just hope the blowback from (Isi....whatever they're known by today) in France and Australia is not severe

Well someone needs to get rid of ISIS or whatever they are called.

Time will tell.

How much more time will the US need in the Middle East, you think?
