Don't you have any pride in your nation, and your people? None at all? Are half the people in this country just faithless?

I think you are mistaking 'bombastic bullying' for pride?

You may do well to remember that "Pride comes before a fall"

Lol.... you do realize that you've just spent a lot of time in this topic happily conversing with English nationalists? Nationalism is on the rise in England, it's very pervasive there. What do you think the UKIP is, for God's sake?

But yet when Scots show a bit of national pride we are demonized or brushed off as slack -jawed, ignorant, low-class people "buying into SNP propaganda".

How do you know if there are English Nationalists in this thread, what evidence do you have of that?

You are a bit sad though. Who called anyone slack jawed and ignorant, why do you belittle people who looked at the options available and made their own informed choice - whichever way that was?

I'm 100% for the UK... for the UNION..... I vote UKIP!

I'm not an English Nationalist.... So it kind of blows that idea out of the water really doesn't it.

Hi there Korg, I agree with you that voting for UKIP doesn't make someone a Nationalist - I should have said that and apologise for not doing so but glad that you could see the point I was making.

The premise of this whole OP seems to have been a kneejerk reaction that because people had exercised their democratic right, but the majority made a different decision to the one the OP wanted, makes them selfish and scared..... sad state of affairs when someone seems to think too much democracy is a bad thing.

More than anything I think the recent referendum indicates there are some serious education issues in Scotland.

It is clear that the people who voted yes, have no clue what economically it would mean for them. No one in their right mind would do something so monumentally stupid, unless they were ignorant of the facts. Of that I am sure.

all the best,

Korg.

Personally I won't call anyone stupid based on their vote, but I do think they were betrayed to an extent by the Yes campaign that thought that simply stating their objectives somehow made them realistic and achievable. I guess a lot of people suspended their disbelief based on their passion, guided or misguided.

And you don't think you're not being ever so slightly hypocritical? On the one hand you dismiss "English Nationalists" as something bad, then go on some diatribe about how great Scotland is and questioning other Scots pride for voting no, so clearly you're a Scots nationalist!

Yes, I am proud to be English and I love England. Yes, I want to see English MP's decide English laws. Why is that a bad thing? I still believe in the Union.

You can make a stupid decision without yourself being stupid. It's a case of lack of knowledge.... Which was my point really.

And I absolutely agree that the yes votes were driven by emotion.... something that should never come into making such a decision.

Peace,

Korg.

Well, the clue is in the name. UKIP, shall I spell it out for you? Nothing "English" centric about the name, given that the UK is England, Wales Northern Ireland and SCOTLAND. HELLO mcFly!

I've been following the thread since it began, I've seen nothing to mark out any English Nationalists in it, can you point it out or are you just making stuff up now your position has been shown to be quite vacuous by destination now's quite inspirational posting?

Yes we are because you are both Scottish and British, it's a fact, not a choice. Great Britain is still in Union. Tough luck that you don't like it, but how about those English Nationalist claims you made (when citing UKIP, LOL) ?

All together now ahhhhhhh a small minded little bigot go back to watching braveheart .

You're just showing me why I should dislike you even more. Funny how that always happens.

You people are always so sensitive, whining and braying like a little girl who scuffed her knee. "Bigot, racist, Anglophobe, whaaa whhaa". It's almost comical if it weren't so sad. It's pretty clear the English are an effeminate lot.

Also, it's pretty hilarious how the fellow calls me a bigot while in the same breath referring to Scottish people as "Jocks". I always have a lot of success provoking the cowardly hypocrites and getting them to expose themselves.

I suggest you read back your own posts and see that you were being reflected back to yourself..as if in a mirror..

Strange how you can see it in others, but not yourself..

Sad

I'm open about my contempt for English people. These cowards hide behind their self-righteous, hypocritical whining to conceal how they really see us. I mean, by now it should be pretty clear to you, with the whole "I can't stand these dumb jocks" thing just a few posts above, but I guess not. Go on living in your fantasy.

Racist? Lol..... English isn't a race, it isn't even an ethnicity. English people and Scots are the same race and the same ethnicity, the only difference is nationality.

I get so tired of these useless buzzwords that are meant to intimidate people. "Anglophobe" "racist" etc, it's all nonsense to me, seeing as how we are the same race, and lowland Scots are technically Anglos because they descend from Angles that settled there in the 6th century.

Utterly ridiculous.

If it wan't for the English, many Scots would still be speaking Gaelic. They annihilated our culture and language by clearing out highlanders from their homes and shipping them in chains to industrial centres or American colonies, and attempted to rewrite our history with propaganda. And they still have the arrogance to look down on us to this very day, as shown by the English person a few posts above.

So clearly we are two different nations. The union is artificial.

We are different from them, I just accept reality. Sure we've been in a union for a long time, but there's no need for it anymore. There is no longer a British empire (despite what butthurt English might like to fantasize about), and we aren't threatened by Germans in a World War. It's time we recognized that we deserve to be separate.
