The deadly attack on U.S. consulate in Saudi Arabia which occurred Monday was performed by Saudi militants. Three of four attackers killed in the gunfight are recognized by Interior Ministry. They are suspected to be linked to al Qaeda but none of them was on the "top wanted" list.
RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia named Tuesday three of the five militants who stormed the U.S. consulate in Jeddah, and said they were all Saudi nationals.

An Interior Ministry statement named three of the attackers who were killed after Monday's raid, but none was on a list of 26 top wanted al Qaeda militants in the kingdom.

It said the authorities were still trying to identify a fourth militant killed and would not reveal the name of the wounded fifth militant who is in custody

Nine people were killed Monday, when five attackers with explosives and firearms tried to storm U.S. consulate in Jiddah, western Saudi Arabia. This attack was pointing U.S. security vulnerability. Apparently heavily fortified and guarded U.S. diplomatic buildings weren't impossible to reach by Saudi militants.
