Russia wouldnt directly take on NATO thus the reason they use subterfuge in Ukraine for example. But reality is NATO could deploy more troops than Russia could handle meaning this would have to go nuclear for Russia to survive. So lets hope these two dont start a real shooting war.

The hope is a hope. The facts are facts.

The events on ground tell a story.

Russia will have to prepare for the eventuality that it has to fight the NATO force - both conventionally and on nuclear dimension.

Everybody makes plans but plans are only as good as the execution.

There is still some time but not much.

Russia will only face that eventuality if it continues its policy of aggression.

It is a fact that an adversarial Ukraine is not workable for Russia. The long border, the family and economic connections etc. are factors that Russia simply cannot overcome. There is no option for Russia but to militarily change the situation in its favour.

A neutral Ukraine is not an adversarial Ukraine, yet Putin insisted on treating it as such. Why shouldn't Ukraine trade equally with Europe and Russia? How does this pose a threat to Russia?

Why bother to continue engaging him? His claims are as bad as Putins and make less sense.

I think Russia is counting on US/NATO backing down with everything else going on. But if the various Arab states step up to the plate to take on ISIS/ISIL/IS then it frees forces to go elsewhere. Which I'm sure Putin doesn't want.

I dunno....

We already stated military force would not be used in Ukraine so there is really no bluff to call on that one. Going after the Baltic states, on the other hand, is not something you challenge by thinking NATO is bluffing about protecting its members.

As for ISIS they have already made statements threatening Russia / Putin. They apparently are not happy about Russian occupation of areas like Chechnya and some of the other kerplakistan countries with large muslim populations.

Attacking somewhere like Ukraine is one thing but if Putin thinks that the world will not respond if he were to invade a NATO member-nation, he is truly insane.

A Nato country is the line in the sand, if Russia does what they did to Ukraine to an adjoining NATO county, it is either war or the end of Nato if they do nothing. And the UN would be useless to help as well.

Russia cannot fight NATO on its own only. Nations like China, India, some in Middle East, others will have to definitely give a 100% commitment to help Russia in any way needed to fight NATO or any other aggressor.

Such an open commitment will deter NATO's plans of eastwards expansions and constant hostility towards Russia.

World will be peaceful again, given there will be little chance of NATO/West ganging up on one single country at a time !!

The BRICS organization is NOT a defensive alliance.

India is not going to join with Russia to fight NATO. Currently China has troops inside India, who are none to happy about that.

With elections in Brazil its looking more likely they are going to be moving away from their position of supporting governments, like VEnezuela and others along that line.

You are delusional you actually think China is going to make a commitment to Russia. China would like nothing more than see Russia evaporate not to mention their entire economy depends on the west. China needs to maintain the inflow of capitol because right now their economy is propped up with over inflated land prices. Not to mention a weak Russia keeps them out of Asia and could eventually lead to the return of territory they took from China. About the only Support Russia can count on is Syria for what thats worth. Even Iran is jumping ship which is funny really Irans offering to supply oil and gas to Europe basically undercutting Russias bargaining chip.

If you want a close up of Russia China relations look at Chinese immigration into russia and how Putin sees it as a threat to national security.

I know there is expected to be over 3 million in 3 to 5 years and the Russians are panicking afraid they are going to lose the east. In fact most businesses in that area are owned by chinese.

SCO is an alliance which is quickly taking shape of a military set up.

In the event, countries like China and India do not side with Russia fighting NATO, then they will be next to face the oppression from the Western nations.

Same holds for other nations like Iran, NK etc.

Russia is not USSR with Warsaw Pact. If other nations want Russia to sponsor their interests, they would need to contribute collectively to strengthen the bargaining chips.

There were no NATO troops deployed to NATO nations that directly border Russia.
There were no NATO bases inside NATO countries that directly border Russia.

Only after Russia invaded Ukraine did NATO decide to change that status.

Gosh... Do you even read the news or are you THAT much into denial?

NATO has been having troops in Poland, Romania and even Ukraine for weeks, even months!

here,

here

here

And there's no secret about these deployments.

When did Russia invaded Ukraine? I suppose that's when Crimea declared its independence, right? You can indefinitely justify any war move by NATOas long as you're twisting and beefing up facts. Just like the WMDs, or Saudi terrorist cells in Afghanistan and Pakistan... Possibilities are endless!

Another goofy fail thread by Xcathdra.

Coming up next...

Evil Dictator Putin threatens to attack Chenya over ISIS!!!

Just wondering if english is a second language for you? See he said there was no NATO presence in the countries bordering Russia prior to them invading Ukraine.Than you post articles which says troops are being sent because of Russias attack on Ukraine. So you countered your own argument and proved him right. See NATO moved troops into the area because Russia is attacking its neighbors this is something we call cause and effect. See everything Russia has done has created the exact opposite of what Putin claims they want. He claimed they didnt want Ukraine to join the EU Ukraine wasnt going to they were going to just have a trade agreement and already ruled out joining them. Well now they of course need the help and changed their minds. Putin claimed there was a buildup of troops on the Russian border which their wasnt.Than now that hes proving Russia to be a rogue nation NATO will start bulding bases there per the recent meeting of NATO.

Putin claimed NATO didnt have a purpose which oddly i agreed with but than what does he do he gives them one. Putin annexes Ukraine the world loses support for Russia because everyone sees its a land grab just like Georgia this starts the sanction. The Sanctions are destroying the economy when he claims hes trying to save it. This guy everything he says or does apparently creates the circumstances he says hes trying to prevent. The paranoid part of me says someone paid him off because everything he does helps everyone but Russia.

Well are you the brainwashed one Putin got a hold of or what? Ever hear of Vice news? I suggest you go to YouTube and watch their videos on Ukraine. You will get an education, they have plenty of unbiased reports for you live action style!

Russian troops were in Crimea the day all the little non insignia wearing fools showed up. They also started all this crap in east Ukraine. Active duty Russian officers in Ukrainian police uniforms moved in and took control over the local police and then started this insurrection. Its on video straight from the Russian officers mouth cause he had no clue he was being video taped!!!

Vice news also shows how the Russians set up areas to look like they had been attacked, Vice news quickly busted the Russians on their ridiculous stories. The Russians also arrested and locked up the head Vice news reporter and beat him for no dam reason. They did not even know that Vice news had busted them on video yet.

Stop this bull# that NATO did this, NATO did that due Russia did this, Russia did that.

This exercise yields nothing.

Russia cannot have an adversarial Ukraine. Period. Russia will do anything in its power to stop that.

You bloody do whatever you can, but stop justifying it on such foolish grounds.

I have seen a lot of Vice News footage. If you are suggested that Russia took over Crimea - the answer is yes. When Putin himself says it - where is the doubt.

There are definitely some Russian elements present in East Ukraine. There was no doubt about that either.

However Kiev regime is advised by American experts, receives intelligence from US agencies, has Polish and other mercenaries in its army, and uses fascist militia to suppress East Ukraine - all this is ignored by Vice News. Why? Because Vice News is pure propaganda, not a news channel.

Russia has genuine interests in Ukraine. It is impossible for Russia to ignore that. An attack on Russian interests in Ukraine is no different from an attack on Russia itself.

That was the best yet. I saw/heard four of them live, one
with Ronnie singing. This was flawless and brutal, thank you.

Back to the thread-- it seems Putin might have a corner on
the Euro gas market that's being threatened covertly by the
Angelo/Brit cartel, and that's all the reason he needs.
It was already mentioned that petro is the Russian Rep's main
export: and with the Ruble starting to tank as it is, we may
be seeing the roping in of whatever forced customers they
can get.

I'd like to forget about control of the oil a lot more than wel-
ding a handle on the politicians stirring this pot of nitro.
Diplomacy with Mr. Appeasement Lite is already a loser; that
in itself is making me doubly nervous over NATO's codpiece
wagging. It's showing me the intel agencies are the lose cannons
Barry has no control over whatso.

The stoppage of Russian gas will hurt Germany and several other European states.

It may not matter for GB or France, but situation is not same for everybody.

Russia may get a lower price for its gas, but there are customers lined up in Asia. Do not assume Russian gas will not sell.

Russia has a lot of options, including selling assets to Chinese companies. The Russian government can take many decisions to offset effect of sanctions.

I am sick of seeing that every single thread on Ukraine gets stuck in sanctions on Russia.

Nobody has any concrete proof of sanctions working except dollar/ruble exchange rate. The reasons are not difficult to see - it seems that NATO lovers have lost their brains.

I have written so many time that exchange rates are manipulated. The banking cartels can do this and have been doing this for very long.

However old methods do not always work. The fx rate of ruble will not cause serious problems for Putin now. There will be problems for common people no doubt, as their money buys less. But the macro-economic situation wont be affected much.

The wars always bring suffering to common people. The same will happen to people in Western countries too as their assets depreciate in value.
