We were fortunate enough to have everyone in the group have some sort of experience.
Most were minor but strange none the less.

It appears to me that some of the things there are kind of in debt to the owner.
I know there is a very strong appreciation for what she is doing for the place.

Kind of like my caretaker job,
the spirits want a clean building and when I start to get going on cleaning, money falls from strange places.
In a little over 2 years, I have acquired a 3 pound coffee can of change packed full (I have to shake it to make room for more change) and most of it came from places I know I just cleaned and there was nothing there, and I turn around and there is a penny/quarter/dime,
and the feeling of appreciation from someplace else in what I do.

Would you mind elaborating on the knocks a bit? You mentioned that they responded to a couple of questions. Could you share specifics? (What was asked? How was it answered? How quickly? etc.)

Thanks so much!

I would have to go back and listen to the recordings again,
it has been almost a year now so my memory is not all that great.

I do remember that when it was asked if anything was present we started to get them.
But unless I spend a few hours going over the tape recordings,
that is about the best I can do for now. I will do that though at a future time when I get a chance.

I'll see if I can't somehow put them on a video so you can hear them at some point and time.
I am on a coffee break/lunch right now.

S&F, DarkBlade.

No time to post much, as you know how limited my free time is this week.

Wonder if they ever found that hidden manuscript?

Awesome post

That sounds like a blast, wish I could have been there.

For the shadow on the camera shot - were you using a flash? Could that just be a shadow cast by something the flash illuminated? Ie: the flash caused an object to cast a shadow over that portion? Just spitballing ideas.

As far as the religious thing goes: ghosts are not synonomous in modern times with religion.

I'm agnostic, I have no belief in a creator god or similar. I've still had experiences that I have tried to rationalize, which I have a thread on, and it has not changed my lack of belief in a god or similar.

The paranormal, be it spirits/ghosts/boogeymen or whatever flavor you prefer, are phenomena that I simply want to understand better as my attempts to completely eliminate mundane reasons in my own experiences have failed.

Ironically it's a reverse agnosticism in terms of faith. I don't believe in God or similar, but I concede the possibility of its existence. However unless sufficient proof is provided that it exists, then I will continue to believe it doesn't.

With these paranormal encounters it's kind of the reverse. I've experienced them and cannot provide a sufficient explanation for all of them to reduce them to "normal" events, so until I do they remain "para" normal.

On a side note there is the Historic Anchorage Hotel here that is supposedly haunted. Planning on spending a weekend here soon with a buddy or three to see what, if anything, happens. Should be good fun either way.

Hey! Long time no see!
She was using a flash on her camera.

We tried to figure it out. It is not fingers in front of it,
and it is not hair.
If I had not of seen something roaming around
I would think a bit harder on what it could be,
but I am pretty convinced it was something paranormal.
It just goes along with the rest of the

The prayer they said was for guidance and protection.
it was actually kind of new agey.

I'm out to understand because of my own experiences, like you.
Awesome on the hotel! maybe next time I am up that way I can look into it myself.
It sounds like a fun time for sure!

Have not seen anything about it, so I am guessing not.
Not yet anyways.

Have to admit after being very skeptical originally doing the whole ghost hunt thing(I still believe 99% is faked or nothing to do with paranormal). When you take your own camera that has not been tampered with or altered and listen to some pretty clear EVP voices or capture something that looks like a apparition, it really opens your mind to what could be out there.

What is it?
Actual spirits trapped between worlds?
Glitch in the matrix?
Parallel dimensions?

I don't expect to discover the answer by "ghost hunting" but, it is pretty cool experiencing it.

a really great bunch of people who work there,
and best of all, I got to go check it out for myself,
which for me, makes it sooooo much better!

I just want to kind of tell the story of what lead up to going to the palmer house as well.
There was a set of strange things, and I just knew something was going to happen.

This is a quoted posts off of Sled735's Paranormal experiences thread.
I'm glad I kept track when I knew something was up.

Was attacked by a spider the day before yesterday, a tiny little brown thing that went right from under my keyboard to my mouse hand. Really aggressive.Kind of gave me an odd feeling. Tried to take a few pictures of it but they are blurry and I had to squish it before it got away, which it almost did.

Then yesterday I find out that the guy down the hall from me who doesn't speak hardly any english came into the office asking about me. He is the guy that I saw the two weird spirits at his door months ago,it's on this thread somewhere. I don't ever say anything other than hi or good morning to this guy, so the office thought it was strange.

Then today I walk into the office and the first thing I am told is that the roofing crew that is doing the roofs on our building just came from doing a a job here: The Palmer House I haven't talked to the crew yet, but I want to. The other caretaker said they were telling him about it and it was a freaky experience for them. They were taking pictures and such I guess. Kind of weird...... I should really interview them...????

Then also got a call from the Homes office in the other building that they are reporting a fox coming closer and closer out of the field behind them and that people should know to watch their pets. This is the same office window where I encountered a black cat with orange eyes, and now they have a fox problem, the cat came with the bat, and now a spider and a fox??

Also, yesterday I was marking places that I KNOW are haunted here in MN on Google maps for myself, only one I know for sure because I lived there, and this place though it seems a lot less threatening. And Glenshene Mansion, in Duluth (also where the other haunted house is) but with the mansion, I was there as a teenager and had no experiences there, just is something that people have documented at one time or another as haunted......strange...

A month before this, I had a weird bat experience, then around the time the roofing crew started, I started to get weird knocks and lots of activity at home. I had a talk with the foreman, who told me about the palmer house.

And I just had a feeling that it was all connected. It was weird.

Then about a month later we get an e mail from the guy saying we had paid rooms there for an evening.

I have a entire thread devoted to the bat experience.
So there was a bat,a black cat, a spider and a fox.

It was a premonition of some kind.

Very cool stuff.

Didn't see any black eyed kids at the Palmer house,

Maybe that shadowy thing.
They have had reports of some sort of demon like dog there.
But then I guess there were dogs kept in the basement long ago, and some stories about them,
I don't remember what though,
just that it could be connected to the dog with glowing red eyes reported in the basement.

No UFO's.

Not sure if they have ever done a sage or used Holy Water there.
I'm thinking they are enjoying the unregistered guests.

Yep. Our medicine man burned cedar, sage, and other "medicines" as well as pouring herbal medicines in a bowl filled with water for us to ingest, clean ourselves with and was also used to sprinkle the medicine around the house. I always thought the bowl thing was very interesting. Oddly enough, it had to be our bowl and the medicine man would take it away to dispose of "safely". Despite the opportunity for jokes about medicine men having collections of bowls in their homes, that particular practice of destroying a bowl that had been used for cleansing is strikingly similar to Wiccan practices from Europe. Also burning cedar to cleanse a home is another rather global practice. I always figured that these kind of similarities in medicine craft or witchcraft may be due to having some sort of common and very ancient root.

Cedar, huh? I wonder if cedar paneling works?
Most all activity I have is in my kitchen, bath, and bedrooms. I have cedar paneling in my living room, but hardly ever have activity there. The last thing was an orb that materialized from the back of the light on the t.v. entertainment center, but it floated out to the kitchen first thing.
Maybe the cedar was affecting it in a negative way some how?
