I'm in a country town.. I'm pretty sure they got bigger fish to fry than me though I believe this is nothing more than a bit of fear mongering.

Funny that it's not imminent given the amount of speculation about the threat. I think that most would say imminent is a good word because with Russia backing Syria, the west needs something concrete to enter that country now. I just hope that if something does happen Russia sticks with their rhetoric and i'm fairly confident they will.

Wow he is too politically correct to even call the threat what it is. I'm not very concerned about Islamic terrorism as the maximum damage they could cause would be short term but if he can't even call the threat of Islamic terrorism what it is what are the chances he is capable of standing up to the very real threats to our survival our nation faces?

Nothing that I have said today ... has anything to with religion. This is about crime, potential crime and combating crime

I think countries, on the whole, stick with convenience, whether it goes along with rhetoric or not.

They could have just raised the TL.. without the extra long meet and greet, they do this a lot.. almost every day there's another long winded conference about nothing. Must be part of the psyche leadup to *team 'stralia*

It achieves little for us.. the common folk, but im sure the pats on the backs for them are outstanding.. rather sickening when you look at it from a psychological standpoint. A daily reminder of who's leading the *team*.. in case anyone forgot..

As i said it achieves little from a security standpoint, If something's going to happen.. it'll happen, regardless of what big ears and ASIO think, regardless of what level they set the threat too. All it achieves is a heightened sense of terror/paranoia for the common man, as it stands so far in the "causing terror" in Australia score card..

Terrorists = 0
Government and ASIO = 1 (maybe 3 if you take into account previous media conferences)

And for the record im non partisan.. i just HATE lairs, and this gov.. is hitting new highs of arrogance and outright lies, this past year has done my head in.. not just about the "threats" but also about just about everything else they have touched on a international scene..

I'll tell you now.. it's not ISIS they are worried about.. it's their own populace.. hence the "lone wolf" statement.
My pepole are angry, disheveled... at odds with the gov and in the first stages of civil/class warfare.. THAT is what they are so dam afraid off. But they (once again) will use a international problem to bring the hammer down on the common man more..

Get everyone feeling fearful, terrorized, and angry at the brown people (again). Create the mob mentality.



They need to do this every 5 years or so.

It helps to justify the bazillions of taxpayer dollars they spend in their continued attempt at controlling the oil rich countries (brown people).

I smell false flag coming. Will they do it in Bali again or will they use Tasmainia; its a while since PAM.

I dont think ASsIO has the chutzpa to do another FF on mainland Aust. They have a lot of trouble keeping them under wraps.

I was thinking that all is quite here in Tasmania. But we have this training exercise done a few months ago.

Testing, testing... Today and tomorrow, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service officers, along with staff from Hydro Tasmania will be conducting a training exercise on the Woolnorth Property in North West Tasmania. Residents of Circular Head can expect an elevated level of activity by emergency services for the two days. The scenario for the exercise will be based around an explosive incident on a wind turbine and will involve Search and Rescue officers working at heights. Bomb Scene Examination and Forensic Officers will conduct complex scene examinations and victim recovery scenarios. “The opportunity for specialist units to test their skills and equipment and work together with other agencies is important in the preparedness for the management of major incidents,” said Inspector Kim Steven.
