Only worry is stupid people freaking out if power goes out. Satellites in space are not shielded from the atmosphere and may fail. I do not know how many are built for a EMP hit.As far as satellites it could be a big hit on technology, the rest will only be temporary if it was strong enough to effect the grid in some places. I will watch for the Aurora lights at night though they should be great.

So... according to spaceweather.com people who live in places like Minnesota, Michigan and or Maine may see an aurora on Sept. 12th. from the CME that will occur from yesterdays flare.

UPDATED STORM FORECAST: NOAA forecasters have issued a geomagnetic storm warning for Sept. 12th when a CME launched on Sept. 9th (see below) is expected to deliver a glancing but potent blow to Earth's magnetic field. The storm could reach moderate intensity (G2-class) with auroras visible across northern-tier US states such as Maine, Michigan, and Minnnesota. Another CME could be following close on its heels if today's X-flare also launched a cloud in our direction. It all adds up to a high probability of geomagnetic storms in the days ahead.
