Come to think of it...there was a dead coyote alongside the same road only a couple miles from where this roadrunner crossed my path.
No anvils were evident, though.

'round these parts, the roadrunner is both honored and despised...
Farmers/Ranchers will pay you to kill every one you see...
The local college mascot is... the Chaparral (chaparral cock is another name for these roadrunners).

Think I'll leave the acme-plank spankings to you...since you have so much practice.
