Do you ever get an overwhelming feeling of something bad is about to happen?

I do, sometimes.

Its not like a prediction of a specific event.

Just a feeling.

When you get that feeling, post about it here.

There have been a few times in my life where I have felt that way. One of those times was when I was a kid and had agreed to help my neighbors move their stuff from California (where I'm from) to Boise Idaho. Long story short, the prescription drug addict psychiatrist dad crashed the car with me and his son in it and we nearly died. There was like 3 computer towers in the back seat as well; it was a miracle none of them beheaded us. The other time was when my aunt died in a car crash that nearly killed my cousin (her son) and his friend.

I get a bad feeling after eating White Castle and sneezing. Just never know what may result as a Hershey Squirt after Whitey One Bites.

Those feelings can sometimes be triggered by deja vu .

I have had fleeting moments when I get deja vu I get this feeling of dread and then it passes. I always wonder why sometimes when I have deja vu it comes with feelings of a deep seeded dread.

Other deja vu moments I have come with no dreadful feelings. But every now and then, when I get a strong wave of deja vu, I feel as if something just really bad happened somewhere in the world.

We are all connected via empathy. When something horrible happens to large groups of people, it can send a "dread" wave through our collective consciousness. That is purely my own opinion in the matter.
(Its like when people make the joke.. The jedi's are going to feel this! *blows up a planet or two*)

I've had a feeling of dread all morning. I usually do when I read the news first thing. I'd really love to open a news page one day and see not a single bad headline. Currently I'm worried about the rumors of ISIS and the southern US/Mexico border.

I try not to read the news until the evenings, because I'm always left feeling uneasy, sets a bad tone for my whole day.

I've actually had this feeling only once before in my life. I was in high school and i was getting off the bus at around 7:20am i very very distinctly remember thinking to myself on the way into the building that today was going to be a really horrible day and i should have skipped that day. for no particular reason, as in no tests or crap like that so it wasnt like i was facing a stressful day or something that a i saw coming.... that was Sept. 11th 2001. I was in chemistry class when we found out...

Humans, like most other animals, have a sort of sixth sense when it comes to danger. Sometimes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. You may not know why, but you recognize it as a bad thing. You look down an alley. You don't see anything...but you get a feeling...don't go there. I have always believed that this palpable visceral feeling has a purpose. Its not just jitters or nerves getting to you. We have been part of the food chain for a long time but we weren't always on top. I think that feeling is either a vestige of some sense of self preservation we once had, or perhaps, it is one we are only evolving now. But I believe in it and follow mine whenever I can. It hasn't led me wrong yet.

And yes. I feel like something is coming soon. I have no idea what, there are so many things happening right now its hard not to think that way. But it could always be something no one has even considered yet. It would be easy to look at the world right now and say, yeah - something is going to happen.. But that deep in the gut feeling that something is very near...that is a little different. Where is Edgar Cayce when you need him...

Yes most people get the anxious feelings anxiety can give.

Its not like a prediction of a specific event.

Just a feeling.

A feeling of something bad about to happen, does the "something bad" happen more so than not?

It wasn't until man developed weapons that he became the most dangerous predator. Before then we didn't stand much of a chance against a real predator. Its only technology that keeps us there now. Take the science out of the equation and go for a walk in the jungle. See how long you last...

I had a bad feeling for weeks leading up to 911. I get them every once in a while and usually its about hurricanes. See above post. Anyway I thought a bad storm was in the making. I told my husband about hurricane Floyd In June of the year it struck. That was three months in advance. So in that end of summer time just before the attack I kept checking the charts and maps for any sign of circulation. It was clear as a bell all the way across the Atlantic and even over Africa the weather was pleasant so I was quite confused with the feeling that wouldn't go away. After 911 I realized what it was. I think a lot of people were experiencing something along these lines but just put it off as a bad mood or tried to fit other circumstances into the feelings.
As I was writing this a commercial about hurricane preparedness came on tv. Synchronicity. reply to: smkymcnugget420

Our brains have always kept us ahead of the animals even if we didn't have weapons. Today we have the best technology and still accidentts in nature happen. People get killed by a dog or a bear or a shark. Or fall down and break their neck. That doesn't take us off the top of the heap. We were never anything but top banana. Weapons or not. reply to: Vroomfondel

I think a lot of people these days "Have a bad feeling", it's just the way the world is today.
There is just too much going on and the internet informs more people than before.

A majority of people will have a similar feeling over the next week with 9-11 approaching. I've had this feeling 7/24/365 for the past few years and nothing catastrophic has happened. It appears my gut feeling is perpetually wrong, so I guess as long as I have that feeling, nothing noteworthy's gonna happen.

I seek out sites that only offer good news first thing in the morning. After that I can handle the not so good news. There are sites out there that only post happy human interest stories. Or start the day looking at photos of cute babies or baby animals or visit a site that features jokes. If you're religious seek out spiritually uplifting stories about angels or some other spiritually uplifting stories. You'll find the good stuff if you look for it. After that you'll handle CNN just fine knowing that there really is good in the world.
