A second thought, it seems a bit of a stretch that GE/RR would develop an engine "too large" for fighters...that's where the numbers are....and profits. Not many B-1s out there or very many next gen bombers planned...

Unless it's primarily for commercial application? Possible smoke screen?...

Commercial wouldn't see a benefit from a third airstream. The newest engines on commercial aircraft already bypass 90% of the airflow.

Bombers are an easier kick off point because there is more room to work with for early models. Then it's just a matter of refinement.
