Makes sense to me, there have been plenty of reports of white supremacist groups and other militia type groups sending there members into the military for training. The last decade or so, if your x military you can get a law enforcement job fairly easy. Many in law enforcement like Dan Page preach a libertarian close to anarchic form of rhetoric, very us vs them, anti government. You think Sheriff Joe doesn't have a stock pile of arms ammo and supplies stashed somewhere? Seems to me there is alot of tension between state local vs federal. The division in ideology will result in open conflict sooner or later.

My opinions I can't prove this, this is based on years of study, how many sheriffs have signed a oath to oppose martial law or gun confiscations??

I know my local sheriffs office went on record to not enforce the NYS(UN)SAFE act. As did many throughout the state, meanwhile the state police aka our governors henchmen eat and breath it. I know where my loyalty is here locally..
