I'd like to say Im very thankful its not affecting me. I dont seem to ever get these glitches everyone else does-popups, ads, audio intrusions from them etc...Im always good to go.

That being said? Since I use all forms of the net, Android, laptop, tablet, PC work-PC home...and I dont get any issues...can someone explain why...and how...I'd be singled out when Im just like everyone else on a somewhat equal "netting" field of connections?

Again...I am very glad Im not affected with these inconveniences...and Im sure its only a matter of time...but why is this?????

Perhaps you've just come online when the trouble has died down.
I had the problem earlier in the day, I don't have it now.

Maybe it's because you know how to optimize your gear and take use of the many different options available in browsers. I rarely have any issues and when I do, it's usually a browser setting.

It can vary depending on what kind of computer you have. If you bought one premade, (or a laptop), it could have a lot of stuff installed already that combat the annoying things, and you might have a good router that filters it out, but to know for sure you would have to give a complete breakdown and list your system, software, hardware, etc.. Router, and all that kind of junk..

True that. I do optimize settings, virus scanning, [SNIP], but my overall "optimization" is no better than anyone else!

allot of problems with malware and other issues have to do with browsing habits. I dont even use anti virus. I dont have any issues ever either. If you are smart and know what to look for you should never have a real problem.

Porn, use a safe site. Torrents, use popular ones from well known uploaders. Email, dont open anything you dont know who is sending that isnt absolutely necessary. ect.

NEVER run an .exe unless you trust the source 90%.

Never unzip something without making sure it is what you down loaded.

Dont click on unfamiliar file extension types before researching what they are for.

Dont install random apps you dont need. Dont install any toolbars or other BS.

Run cleaners and registry optimizers regularly. Perform basic maintenance on your OS.....blah blah blah
ECT.

No one should run into issues if they follow this basic stuff.

I would assume as much. But as far as equipment, Ive got the latest of each pretty much, relatively good companies and use only Internet Explorer (at work because its theres)...or Chrome. The rest is just everyday smart phone, laptops and a couple Dell P.C.s....all with windows 7.

So again...Im grateful. Thank you.

Everything you said is pretty much me. Thats why I get twisted up when people come on here yelling about ATS being at fault for messing up their pages, loading times, ads....when some of us (my point needing clarification and explanation)...dont ever have such issues.

So, its obviously NOT (in those cases and not this time) ATS's fault, but on the side of user settings.

Thanks very much!

Not really. Most people do not take the time to learn about certain options or ways to optimize their machines. It makes a world of difference if you take the time to learn a few things.

I used an android phone and my laptop uses internet explorer, and I never seem to get all the problems I hear about other users having either.

perhaps you your search engine is not a data-mining entity--- maybe you do not search for product to buy 'On-Line' because just those two interfaces will load your www.identity with tons of b.s. code/spiders/traking crap/etc. that you would no longer have a squeaky clean device.... you would instead have broken code all over-the-place that might cause all the glitches most everyone else has reported

Honeypot trap.

They only make access easy for the ones they really want.

Fortunately, I've had access issues. So I must be in the clear.

That's all well and good, but these days even reputable sites can have not-so-regulated ads drop a bundle of fun on your system and hose everything up. Of course not having Java installed is a big help, but I would still recommend things like noscript.

I'm confused though, the poster didn't elaborate - why does he think people are being singled out here? I'm new to posting (not reading), but is it just general paranoia or has something been happening here specifically?

I search and view and use the same things as everyone here across-the-board on topics, videos, streams, links-you name it. I haven't a clue why folks are complaining, when obviously its not affecting me.

Including this recent ATS attack. Before, during and after...Im not experiencing any of it. This is why I suggest to folks blaming ATS for this-or-that...that since we all are not experiencing that which they are complaining about...it has to be something with them and settings. Not ATS.

I do suppose my time will come. So far, so good. Thanks all. MS
