Armed Huey P. Newton Gun Activists and Black Panthers Marched Through Dallas

It is kinda like the airplane scene where the blacks and whites all take pause at the middle eastern man. All this gun toating is fine and dandy until the muslim brotherhood does it and everyone finds out about it then it will be a problem. In that sense we have crossed some divides by way of what many see as a common enemy. Until that battle blacks will always stick up for blacks and so on and so on.

I was being sarcastic,and perhaps i shouldn't have been, I absolutely support their second amendment rights! However i do not support the black panthers they are an openly racist group and should always be looked at with a critical eye. If you don't believe this than there isn't a fruitful dialogue to be had here. Wouldn't you agree?

I have a hard time believing you were being sarcastic. How does sarcasm fit in when saying they're "brandishing" their weapons and you don't support their cause? I don't get it.

1. This isn't just the Black Panthers. They were represented in the march. (This is not the New Black Panthers)
2. I think you need to read up on who the Black Panthers are and what they're mission is.

Just as there are a few bad apples in EVERY group, people have used the Black Panther name to commit crimes and use violence.

I think some people see a bunch of black people together and they automatically think there is going to be violence and they get scared. That is systemic racism. If this were a white march, there would be NO gun advocates saying the stuff you've said.

I'm glad you made the distinction.

There is a HUGE difference between the racist group known as the NEW Black Panther Party and the Black Panthers.

The Black Panthers, who are still around today, were not racist. They were tired of racist cops and the KKK lynching and murdering their family and friends. So they took up arms to ensure their rights were protected.

I can honestly say I support the Klan's right to bear arms but not their message.

Its JUST TOO MUCH MELANIN as one poster said. This is racism,characterizing my view points and experiences into some neat, little, white ignorant, scared man, cookie cutter idea. (If this was KKK marching brandishing weapons, honestly that's what it is when a hate group marches its a brandish a flaunt of a sort. My apologies that you are unwilling to accept this.) Then i would certainly be offended. I do not like racism of any kind period end of story. Its sad when you take and ideology and only characterize it by a few, you say look its only a few bad apples. White on black crime is what you see(racial profiling/discrimination right their synonymous). My points of view are far from bigoted, i do not support racism. however i am not ignorant enough to say that African Americans cant be racist, that the vast majority of the lower class in Dallas is racist and that its pointed towards whites.

Regardless under the name it is no stretch to call this party openly racist and therefore should be view critically just as the KKK why is this so hard for you to accept. Why are my points being picked and swayed. I am not racist i am against all forms. I apologize if i have not made that clear in my post.

There haters on each side. When either side takes a stance then the belief that the haters do not exist comes into play. There are places that any of you can go if you are in the u.s. and get killed simply for being born the way you are. When you take up for one side then you are also defending those fringe groups that are there in the name of whatever.

It would be more belivable if they just called themselves the panthers. I think that denoting a race or color in your name is racist from the start.
