The election always bring out the best in Capitalism.

Many well known ultra-Capitalists even support Progressive/Democrat/LeftWing candidates who are the most likely to re-support the big Capitalist money donors if and when elected successfully by unsuspecting Democrat voters.

This year as in years before bring forth the likes of Capitalists like George Soros, Warren Buffet, Michael Bloomberg, Pierre Omidyar, Tom Steyer and others like the small potato Koch Brothers who get the big money into the coffers of hopeful candidates.

read a little about these people....

and think about why citizens would want to vote for their agendas.

As the 2014 midterm elections approached, the media were quick to criticize conservative donors like the Koch brothers for backing issues important to them. But journalists largely ignored the incredible financial power being used to promote the liberal agenda.

Five top donors – Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett, Pierre Omidyar, Tom Steyer and George Soros’s own son, Jonathan – are major funders of the left. Together, they have contributed at least $2.7 billion since 2000 to groups pushing abortion, gun control, climate change alarmism and liberal candidates.

That’s not how major media depicted them. Broadcast networks applauded when billionaire hedge fund manager Tom Steyer promised $100 million to influence environmental policy. CBS News praised Steyer for “giving back” and ABC News called the billionaire an “everyman.”

I used to make the same mistake of thinking there were "good" billionaires and "evil" ones.
But they all play golf and drink and do universe knows what together.

No matter who wins in Hollywood East (D.C.), the average person loses.
I quit watching a while ago.
Politics is its own industry. To Change the status quo is to cut into the profits.
Seriously, I've seen more realistic appearing action and language in pro wrestling.

I appreciate the heads up. It is so easy to focus our attention on Soros and ignore the other evil, big-money, policy shapers.

I think this is the problem with the elections in this country, too much soft money.

People should be limited to $5 per candidate max.

I'm sick of rich ass holes buying candidates!

Yeah. The Koch brothers are small potatoes. Charles and David Koch are tied for 6th richest person in the world. Your love for them doesn't diminish their wealth or influence unfortunately.

If your point is that both political parties are the whores of a cadre of elite neoliberal capitalist overlords, then I agree. Otherwise I don't know what you're concerned about because from the sounds of it, even when "your side" loses it wins.

eh; frankly I see it as Game of Thrones,

House Koch vs House Soros, or whatever....

peasant rebellions will be crushed (or end up like the russian or french revolutions where you see aristocrats being stripped of their property) so we'd do best to support the least-evil, else the greater evil triumphs. Hence my bets are on the more "left-wing" of the wealthy.

I don't think there is any lack of money on either side. Billions of dollars will be spent by the left and the right in this next presidential election. It's all wasted though. We all know that the left is just as crooked at the right and the right is just as crooked as the left.

Where are the mega donors for the smaller political parties....the real third, fourth and fifth parties that need to get some power to really make a change to the status quo?

Not talking about in house movements, like "progressives" or "tea party" etc, but a real third party..a libertarian that is not a republican... a green party or a socialist that is not a democrat...a real constitution or some other candidate that is really independent. That's what we need.

Not these fools like Soros and the Koch brothers that keep pumping money into the same system. It's a game. Wasted money. Let's get a real maverick leader in there.

Fixed it for you.

The majority of the nations left and right have no political nor economic influence on our government.
There are the plutocrats serving each other and then the rest of us.

It's not all 1% though. I mean sure, 1% of the donors are billionaires but they effect the rest of us. Look at fox news...the people that watch that are typical republicans, who don't realize they are being brainwashed.

I agree. Fox News is Corporate and MIC Propaganda.
The other news networks are also Corporate Propaganda but for a different audience.
It is "programming" for the masses to keep them pacified or riled up like 2 footballs teams going at each other as if they have a SAY in the game.

They Don't !!
