Look, if you don't think there is something familiar about the Conservative Right being somewhat outspoken about being Anti-Gay, fine. Just say so.

I on the other hand think there is a similar pattern there that is obvious. If you disagree then show why you disagree. But I'm not going to waste time playing some stupid game where we smile while talking sh*t back and forth as if we're not.

Yeah, there are people who don't like gays. I'll even go a step further and say that there are more people on the conservative spectrum that don't like gays than those of a more liberal progressive bent.

That's why, as a conservative who is also Christian, I try to educate. I spend time with people and explain, and maybe I'm getting somewhere, maybe I'm not. But I will think how I think, treat people how I think they should be treated, and (if asked) will explain why I think the way I do.

So... Let me get this straight. Just because you are considered a "conservative" doesn't mean you align yourself with the most extreme positions of the conservative ideology? Is that what you're saying?

I wonder if we can also apply that to someone who is considered a "progressive"... Would you agree that just because they are a progressive on some issues doesn't necessarily mean that they want big government to run their lives?

Probably more Religious Conservatives than just Conservatives but it's hard to say. Certainly the Religious Right seems to be much more vocal about it in the media than just the average conservative.

Once again though, I'm not saying all of them, but there is a lot of Anti-Gay speech being thrown around it seems.

I think that's a great position for you to take. Honestly, If you feel like I insulted you or implied you were an Anti-Gay Zealot or something then I apologize.
