If Ebola took a stronger grip on the whole of Africa would this be a problem for China? Would it be beneficial for other countries if China had problems?

Very interesting thread, so if Ebola wipes out half of the Africans, more room for the Chinese? Typing of which, the Chinese are like the Vatican, they both think in terms of hundreds of years, not 4/5 years like 'westerners'.
One hundred years time the universal language with be Cantonese, or Mandarin, China will be Communist in name only, much like now!
Asteroid mining will be starting to mature, guess who the miners will be?

Where exactly are the Chineese suppossed to go?

of course they are populating Africa and they are populating the rest of the World at the same rate,I already know skeleton Mandarin, what exactly did everyone think was going to happen when we abbrogated marriages and large families to find ourselves and save the world, heck we did a great job of saving it for the Chineese and getting our women to do the grunt work for them,it hurts to hear but we let it happen and are accountable, when was the last time you congratulated an 18 year old mother? When was the last time you admonished a teenage mother?

Yes,it is an uncertain future isnt it? Just think about your own 10 year old kids pulling rice in a field right now while other plump rosy cheeked kids sit and learn about the world on the internet,it is what it is,the worm has to turn, the trick is to be on top of it when it turns.

Did anyone think that one smart chubby rosy cheeked kid would grow up to compete with 100 lean , tough, surviving kids?

This is called BadMedicine.

And its been coming for a very very long time. The Boomers allowed the worm to start turning when they allowed their Societal structure to be undermined,no one is going to tell me the 60s was not AN ACT OF WAR.Those University rebellionss were CAREFULLY PLANNED FINANCED AND EXECUTED SIMULTANEOUSLY,IN ONE SEAMLESS PERFECT ACTION.

Our birthrate recieved the FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and now we are about to take the 5th step.

China investing in Africa is perhaps no such a bona fide and good out of the hart idea like many think.

Is more than that, just like China cheap labor they need cheap imports partners that also take advantage of slave labor.

No only China has invested millions but also have manage to buy Africa's media in order to control how information is disseminated.

Why China is making a big play to control Africa's media

www.theglobeandmail.com...

From newspapers and magazines to satellite television and radio stations, China is investing heavily in African media. It’s part of a long-term campaign to bolster Beijing’s “soft power” – not just through diplomacy, but also through foreign aid, business links, scholarships, training programs, academic institutes and the media.
Its investments have allowed China to promote its own media agenda in Africa, using a formula of upbeat business and cultural stories and a deferential pro-government tone, while ignoring human-rights issues and the backlash against China’s own growing power.

The agenda of china is not a good one that is for sure.

Beside that China and Africa do not share a colonial unjust history like other countries have, that is one of the reasons they are received with open doors by the very well know shady governments in Africa.

China is very smart they have also lure governments in Africa with "no strings" aid, something that other countries can not do due to the need to profit from anything including foreign aid

Also China is emboldening many unstable countries with money to keep their human rights violations in the face of scrutiny from the international community.

When western countries invest in nations they ask for certain set of rules, many African governments do not follow any rules at all

...Do you think the Ebola crisis is being played by the US or China - or both?

I think that US pharmaceuticals in conjunction with the government have much more deeps roots in the ebola epidemic developing testing and manufacturing that many will want to believe, is socioeconomics in all this.

The links are there is just need to be exposed.

BTW I just found a link to an article that shows that US is not staying behind when it comes to investing in Africa, Obama this year just pledge 14 billion dollars for development in Africa, but as usual it comes with strings attached.
