Sounds like a perfectly plausible theory to me. It would explain why I cant find my digital calipers which I kept in a bag with an ohm meter and a voltage meter, in a toolbox. I never use those items outside one room at home, but still one is missing. If it reappears back in the bag,,,,then I would have more to add.

Obviously the battery liked your comments to the lady so much, that after you passed away, it rolled onto an airplane and looked you up. Shatner will feature you on his next episode of Weird, or what?

I've heard that if you make a stink, whether pleading or demanding out loud for the objects to be returned, they will soon reappear.

Something very similar happened to my friend and I. We were in the bedroom and she was going through her dressing I assume while looking for a shirt or what-not. I was standing near her conversing with her. She opened one of the drawers up when a dime flew out of the drawer and landed on the bed. Just to specify this was your typical dresser with the draws rolling open horizontally. It took us both a minute to think about what had happened, and the more I thought about it the stranger it was. This is probably one of those had to be there moments, but I just can't fathom how perfectly things would have had to have happened in a convenient order for that stupid dime to have flown out the way it did, including the direction and the velocity of the coin. The strangest part is that she is constantly having strange encounters with dimes. Sounds stupid but She finds dime in the house, as well as in public in extremely bizzare places. No, we don't chalk up every dime she finds on the street as strange either. Anywyas, my point was that this dime seemed like it had been thrown through a portal, or a wormhole, or something along those lines.

I've been reading this thread with much interest. I have had three separate experiences with apparent
materialisation. The problem with explaining them is you may sound a little bonkers - so my only hope is here on ats where at least there are open minds.
The third occasion happened today (strangely after reading the thread yesterday - a nice mix of synchronicuty and materialisation!).

To be brief I was making a sandwich on a kitchen work surface and wondering why the small vinegar bottle which i required was not where it usually is - at the back of the work surface against the wall. I remember putting the plate down on the surface then looking in the cupboard and elsewhere in the kitchen. When I returned to the sandwich on the plate the vinegar bottle was right next to the plate in full view. Either somehow I missed it / or it was a materialisation. But I do experience various twilight zone oddities fairly often - this was a humdinger though!

This thread reminds me of that ghost story where a man's dog comes home with a very dirty, and very dead, rabbit. It looks just like the next door neighbor's pet bunny and in a panic fearing that he and his dog will get in trouble, he searches the local pet shops and find another rabbit that looks just like the dead one and returns it surreptitiously to the neighbor's rabbit cage.

Not long afterwards the neighborhood is awoken by his shrieking neighbor saying that the rabbit has come back from the dead. Turned out she buried it a few days beforehand...

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread! Some really crazy stories here. No matter what the explanation is for my situation, I only come back to this conclusion: That it's one of the most bizarre things that has happened to me in this lifetime...

Yep, I've experienced similar...
When I was about 12 or 13 yrs old, my mum - who was in prison at the time - sent me a small gold heart charm and necklace. Now, if she had sent that to me now, I would immediately send it back, as I do not communicate with her these days (as far as I'm concerned, when my Dad died suddenly from a blood clot, 9 yrs ago , both my parents died - that is how I feel about my neglectful, drug addicted mum these days). However, at the time, I was still disillusioned about my mum and thought this was a great, meaningful gift.

Not long after I received it, I went to a friends place to stay the night. All normal. The next day, we went to this little nearby beach and had a full day of fun and frivolity, playing in the waves, picnic lunch e.t.c. We were in some pretty heavy surf when I realised that my necklace had broken and my heart charm was missing. After at least half an hour of group searching for this little tiny heart charm - as well as at least another hour of me fruitlessly pawing through the submerged sand, looking for this little heart, I gave up.
Anyway, after another half a day at my friends place, feeling that yucky feeling you get when you loose something valuable, I ended up going home. I said Hi to my Dad, went to my room and there - in the direct centre of my messy teenage bedroom floor - was the little heart I had assumedly lost at the beach!
I still cannot work out how I managed to go for an entire night's sleepover, without my obviously broken chain - sans charm - sliding off my neck, so it is still a mystery!
Another incident occurred at a party when I was about 19 yrs old. I first went to a friends place, bought alcohol ( cannot remember how I paid for it - yes, I was a wild, teenage rampage back then, lol), went to said party and had a ball of a night. Early morning, I called a taxi to escort me and a couple of friends home, when I realised my wallet was not in my handbag. I was furious - i pretty much had the entire party looking for my wallet for at least an hour, and - after a lovely parent-of-a-friend decided to gibe us a lift home - I decided my wallet was lost or stolen. After spending a drunken night at a mate's place, I returned home the next day to walk into my apartment and found my wallet innocently sitting right in the middle of my lounge room floor. WTF!!! I wasn't drunk when I left home, so I still have no idea how I managed to leave my wallet - which, like most people, I take with me everywhere - at home, in the weird location I found it at.
Anyway, these are my main two experiences with this type of phenomena. I've had a few more little ones, but these are the most inexplicable.
I believe the OP has every right to feel that this os out of the ordinary and that it may be a message - however obscure - that may warrant some attention.

The battery seems to have come a long way since then. Used in medical equipment and household appliances, but if you truly believe that circumstances for this battery falling in front of you are unexplainable, then never forget your "sarcasm" to that person. Recall everything that you can about the event in which you remember this battery from, find the exact amount of time since that day and this event, and make sure you never use

Absolutes- "Yes this battery is the very best you can buy" for the same amount of time into the future

It might be hard to think about, but if you needed to know something from someone who was that much smarter than you in the same area of expertise, would you want them to brush you off with sarcastic absolutes? I need to work on this just as much as you, I think

Cool story, but it's always puzzling why certain objects are chosen, especially mundane ones. If a spirit is going to throw coins at me, how about rare silver dollars!? I wonder if your friend had a recently deceased relative and maybe some connection or significance to a dime could have been found.

My friend does think its a relative who has passed but we can't figure out who it would be or the significance of the dimes. My friend also received an old purse of her grandmothers, whom is still alive. The purse was completely empty,or so we thought, but we flipped it upside down to shake it out and out fell four dimes and nothing else.

There is a theory that there are intersections of energys on Earth (like Stonehenge or some random places) and if you enter in one of those intersections it or you will teleport to another intersection immediatly or in some time. This theory was never proven tough.

I would love it if someone has had a similar experience to share their thoughts...

If it did come from the past, then what it's called is an apport, and yes, I do have my own story that involves my mom who's been dead since November 1973. That said, it's a really long story and I actually have scanned JPEGs of the actual apport. What's interesting is that I posted that story on my blog this last week, and if you're interested, here's the link. There's nothing at all for sale or being promoted on that blog, so I'm hoping that linking the story here instead of cluttering up the bandwidth with a copy-paste will be okay with the mods.

Apports are really rare, and usually they occur as a result of a very specific reason. My own story is a good example of why such a rare incident might happen. As to why a battery would be apported from years ago, only you might know if anyone does.

You could U2U it.. I love hearing about stuff like that. I have had contact from my grandmother several times, and have had objects "taken" and then returned.
