Well.... Considering people were essentially hostages in the McDonald's last night, and the 3 female reporters who were trapped in the streets may be the reason why HR is there. Just a second opinion. Not that I agree with it at all.

I suppose it makes sense to have them on hand on the off-chance someone snaps and loses it. The heavy-handedness the PD has used the past few nights has gotten to me, I suppose, HR seemed overkill.

i don't see how you could prevent police from overstepping at all. they are individuals this rule and its logistics make absolutely no sense. this is a huge event hundreds upon hundred involoved how could you keep them in perpetual movement yet setting up break zones, what if you are old, or of normal american health and cant walk as far as predetermined by law enforcement? This rule on protest gives to much power to the authority's which are conveniently in the lime light.

This is some great footage on GlobalRevolution, People talking sense.
Instead of some the guys on here throwing ad hominem's like
"They are animals" take a look at real people in their town giving their opinion.

Its interesting to see politic-like "forced choice." Except in circumstances like this, the divide that results can go much deeper.

We are basically being shown two groups as a focus: "criminals" and "overzealous cops."

Choose one.

The truth is more complex than that, of course, but this will likely be heavily exploited in the coming weeks and months with great success.

twitter.com...

The above linked set of photos might offer some explanation as to what occurred at the McDonald's last night. My guess (and only a guess) would be that the McDonald's was probably closed (hence the broken window to get in for milk). From the employees' perspective, they were getting looted. Instead, they got looted for milk to treat tear gas victims. Just a guess though, as I wasn't there, but the fact that those pictures were taken outside that McDonald's does, in fact, provide some more context to the incident. Poor choices were made by the method of trying to obtain the milk for those needing it for medical treatment but hard to say whether or not those who did it felt like they had any choice (panic).

Now I didn't read through the whole thread , just a couple pages, but did not see this mentioned and many have made a wrong assumption. Here's what everyone is missing---

THE MO NAT GUARD WILL NOT BE ARMED!!

That's right folks, they will not be armed!

Unless they've announced otherwise and someone can show me where it says they'll be armed.

As a former Guard member who has served during flood and looting/security missions, I can tell you we were not armed though we did pack our M-16's.

They are tasked with protecting the command center, they will be armed whether you believe it or not

Thanks for linking me to Ikonoklast and his informative post. So Van Jones and Bill Ayers have ties to the Revolutionary Communist Party? And Jones and Ayers are best buddies with the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This is all beginning to make sense now.

The police are told to let the looters run rampant by the Department of Justice, leading to this current escalation with the National Guard being deployed. I predict big trouble tonight which will lead to these commies spreading more civil unrest to other cities. Nation of Islam and the Democratic Socialists of America hard at work to bring the promised change to America.

Well, I guess since they were critiqued for being so militarized, somebody decided to go old school today.

and protests are being allowed. They are being told they cannot stop and congregate, which is fair.

a reply to: EyesOpenMouthShut

it's not just denying congregation. they aren't allowed to stop walking

I think there should be a mandate that all protesters must not only continuously walk, but must also, once every hundred yards, hop on one leg for a minimum of three seconds whilst rubbing their tummy in a counter-clockwise fashion and singing "CHIPPY-CHIP-CHERAH, I LOVE AMERICA!" in the style of either Frank Sinatra or Cher.

Any protester found to be in breach of these rules of conduct, either by hopping on one leg for less than three seconds, or by inadvertently rubbing their tummy in a clockwise fashion, will be summarily executed on the spot, their corpse impaled and their head turned into a Jack-o-Lantern. We will then line all the streets of Ferguson with these impaled Corpse-O-Lanterns until the protests die down, or until we run out of impaling spikes with which to impale people with.

Did you see this somewhere or are you basing this off your own experience?

it would be great if they were not armed, but it would not make sense in this situation...actually a horrible decision from a command and intel point of perspective...at the least, you would have non-lethals...and as noted...considering their tasking...
