Since the invention of the piano, this instrument seems pretty simplistic today, but it is still one of my favorites. It is truly timeless.

Reason for multiple replies: the formatting on this BBS for links is counterintuitive. I guess I should probably figure out at some point if it wants HTML or what, but it would be nice to simply be able to post lists of links without the need for programming language, imo.

I live in the Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains. Hammered dulcimers are a long time tradition here. I have and play a standard hand held, some call a lap dulcimer. Love the instruments, and the music played on them.

Beautiful. I don't think many people realize that this is really how you get good harmonies on this instrument. While it is a good instrument alone, it is best when accompanied by a diversity of instruments. Violin + Dulcimer = my personal favorite.
