Looks like Russia has denied even crossing the border

Here is a report from Russia saying ''possible disruption of aid trucks'' and also that Russian military vehicles didn't cross the border.

The trucks carrying aid are military vehicles, did Ukraine attack those?

Sounds like the most likely scenario IMO.

Moscow has information that the convoy delivering humanitarian aid to eastern Ukraine may be attacked by Kiev’s forces, with the “punitive” Aidar Battalion planning to mine the road that the vehicles will use, the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

On Friday, Moscow accused Ukraine of attempting to disrupt the humanitarian aid convoy now that the preparations for its delivery have reached their final stages and all key issues have been agreed upon.

“We draw attention to the sharp intensification of military actions by Ukrainian forces with the obvious goal to block the route, agreed upon with Kiev, of the humanitarian convoy from the Russia-Ukraine border to Lugansk,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In Moscow’s view, all this gives the impression that there are people both in Ukraine and abroad who are willing to disrupt the humanitarian mission, even “at the cost of new casualties and destruction.”

“Those nurturing such criminal plans are taking huge responsibility for their consequences,” the ministry said.

Russia sent a convoy of 280 trucks carrying humanitarian aid – such as medical supplies, food, including baby food, sleeping bags and other basic necessities – to conflict-torn southeastern Ukraine on Tuesday. The convoy is currently stuck near the Ukrainian border, and is awaiting final approval from Kiev before moving forward.

Russia also reiterated that it would carry out the agreements reached with the Ukrainian government and the ICRC on delivering aid to Donbass residents as quickly as possible and in full.

“We are doing everything we can to provide security for this mission,” the Foreign Ministry said. Russia urged both the Kiev military and the east Ukrainian militia to immediately announce a ceasefire to allow the humanitarian convoy to reach Donbass residents.

Russia’s Security Service (FSB) has denied reports that the country’s troops have crossed the border into Ukraine. Border guards have been deployed to provide security near the frontier, but they operate only on the Russian side, the FSB said.

The mobile military teams “operate strictly within the territory of the Russian Federation,” a spokesperson for the FSB Border Guard Service in Rostov region told RT on Friday.

Russia has stepped up security measures on its border with Ukraine as local residents are under constant threat because of “regular cross-border shelling” and an increased number of “mass border crossings” by the Ukrainian military, he explained. For that reason, FSB mobile border guards’ teams have been created.

According to all the reports, including one two hours ago, the aid vehicles are painted white to be readily identified, and were checked at the border. And it sounds like they are actual trucks, not APCs.

From this article they haven't even checked them across the border yet it sounds like. They were still waiting on the Red Cross manifest.

first some journalist claimed WITH NO PROOF whatsoever that some APC's crossed into Ukraine and now Ukraine said it engaged and destroyed some of it WITH NO PROOF whatsoever.

it would be much better lie if they said they destroyed it completely, now we are all wondering where is the proof of the attack and where is the rest of it in the Ukraine...

I suspected for a long time now that Germany will choose Russia over this conflict rather then the European Union/US. Germany is simply to dependent on Russia.

Now unless you been living under a rock since 2008 France is going trough the biggest financial massacre since well ever. They are facing total global shut down and their financial reports are just to gruesome to show to the public. youth unemployment going trough the roof.

I find this combination odd and a bit worrisome. Russia is a big spender when it comes to French military tech, and with the recent sanctions it almost blew the mistral deal -> www.themoscowtimes.com... and other source : www.defenseindustrydaily.com...

This is a big deal for France.

I suspect that France and Germany will abandon ship with Europe if push comes to shove with Russia. So far the EU has done nothing but worsen the French economy and Germany is pretty much in the same boat.

they are just parroting the stupidest possible lie Ukraine could ever come up with.

if they destroyed some Russian military equipment together with soldiers we should be able to see some proof and we should also see some reaction from Russia, also they said they didn't destroy all of it so there should be some more APC's floating around Ukraine; waiting for pictures.

British media is talking nonsense; in same article they are talking about Russian "incursion" into Ukraine and Russia "easing tension" by allowing Ukrainians to inspect aid trucks.

as far as I am concerned Ukraine just shot themselves in the foot.

I know the aid trucks are military painted white but Russia are saying that there weren't any Russian vehicles attacked so I wondered if it might have been the aid trucks at the border.

I read this earlier about Italy's view on the sanctions. All of Europe should abandon the U.S. on this one. Say no to Russian sanctions.
