I will conclude with a question for all the humanitarians out there. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clearly stated at the outset of this incursion that his objective is to restore a sustainable quiet for the citizens of Israel. We have already established that it is the responsibility of every government to ensure the safety and security of its people. If political leaders and military experts determine that the only way to achieve its goal of sustaining quiet is through genocide is it then permissible to achieve those responsible goals?

The title is absolutely misleading. This is an op ed piece and the author is posing a question, not stating a fact, not quoting anyone.

Look past the sensationalist opinion advocating genocide.

...To the stated strategy of innocent civilian attrition as a "deterrent" for Hamas militant attacks. What I'm saying, is it doesn't have to be full genocide to be condemned as evil, wrong, unacceptable by civilized people.

The Zionists have been employing the same tactics and justification as the jihadists. It is this perverse logic of justifying evil behavior that is the poison. I would argue that the authoritarian position of Israel and US LEO manifest this value set into an existential threat for all civilians under their juridiction.

This same immoral poison is showing up daily in the US and on ATS. Fight it now before it's too late.

But wait. Hamas is an Israeli creation to divide and conquer the PLO. as discussed on other ATS threads...so the intransigence of Hamas that justifies Yochanans call for genocide is an Israeli creation........

The person who wrote that piece must be familiar with the next level BS borders at the edge of some ATS pages!

His references to the rockets "raining down on the heads of Israeli citizens" is very misleading indeed. The Iron Dome missile defence system has been stupendously successful, so successful, that for all the thousands of rockets which have flown over the border there, THREE Israeli citizens have been killed by rockets. Three. Not thirteen, not thirty. Three. So the assertion that rockets are raining down on the heads of civilians in Israel is patently false.

Furthermore, the writers opinion of those residents of Gaza who have rocket batteries on the roofs of their apartment buildings, or tunnels beneath their family home, installed not by the residents, but by militants who wield such power there that to defy them means death for a person and/or his family... It is utterly unsupportable.

The writer claims that these people should be treated as enemy combatants, because of their inability to prevent the use of their homes by militants. UTTER GARBAGE! Total, and complete bloody ignorance at best, and at worse a blood hungry issuance of absolution for whatever action Israel wishes to take.

Let me be clear. When US and UK drone strikes kill a wedding party full of people, and ONE terror suspect, that is wrong. When one starts a full scale, military invasion of a country, in order to hunt a relatively small number of sociopaths within that country, that is wrong. Sending tanks and airstrikes to kill a shadow army, which has no uniform, no proper command structure, operates in cells, and cannot be combated in the same way as a traditional military can be, that is wrong. When one tries to brush off hundreds of thousands of collateral deaths as the price of war, that is also wrong.

And by the very same token, Israel using high powered, sophisticated munitions and aircraft, to take out small numbers of poorly armed, well hidden terrorists who are hiding in civilian rich environs is also wrong. Going ahead with this strategy is inhuman, and makes of Israel, what the brutality of the Nazis made of them in history. If Israel wanted rid of Hamas, they would send in the experts. You see, Israel has the most effective, most dangerous assassins of any nation the world over. The entire war could have been conducted without anyone being the wiser, and with less than a half of one percent of the collateral casualties that have so far come about.

The fact is that the Israeli government have no wish to lessen the impact on the civilian population of Gaza, and people like the writer of this propaganda article, are the reason why they get away with it!

Since the first Jewish uprising, Jews have suffered pogroms, York, in northern England, too many to list in Russia and Germany, those Jews who staid in Israel under the Ottoman empire were persecuted, especially when the Ottoman empire shipped in Arabs (Muslims) who were the main instigators of harsh rules and high taxes against the indigenous Jews.
Jews have always lived in Israel, ever since Mosses time, most of the Arabs in Israel are second generation, shipped in by the Ottoman empire to out breed the Jews.

Difficult one as when it was done to a number of them, they didn't like it but they learned and now have it down to an art form.

Every reknowned scientist, from Einstein to Hawkins, is anti Zionist.

There's a reason for this: Israel's creation was immoral, illegal, based on Colonialism, violence and ethnic cleansing.

Currently, Israel refuses to obey international law and, as per UN Res 242, return to the 1967 borders, borders which still grant the Palestinians far less land than they deserve. Every country on the planet, except Israel and the US, agrees that Israel must give back the land. Even Hamas says they will quiet their rocketing if Israel goes back to the 1967 borders. Israel has no intention of doing this.
