A Swarm of One Thousand Robots !

Pretty cool, but what could it lead too ?

Building things. Construction workers should be concerned.

Its great and can probably be used for wonderful things but will likely be used for war making instead. Like a swarm of bees infecting a host.

Pretty cool though.

The redundant human race!

I can see it now....soon these will be nano scale machines, and then...

Imagine these being tasked to fix pot holes in the road.

You drive over the pot hole, dump the required number, and they link together as they fill the hole.

Another example could be sending down old water mains where they move and lock into position and create a new inner pressurized surface.

There are many non militarized uses for this technology when you apply human ingenuity to its possibility.

Contemplating military/practical applications of such an algorithm process

Self-materializing guns that can mobilize and set up turrets etc...?

Or repair work

Maybe it could put out forest fires?

Or work towards helping us find a way to build an underwater city or spaceport

Nothing much ... as these are not "individuals", but a "collective".

Beautiful to watch,
a scary glimpse of the future should they 'evolve'…….
now where is my rolled up newspaper…….

If they could get these to move in three dimensions, maybe little ball bearings that move around using magnetic fields over each other, you could have some really funky art exhibits. Imagine if they could carry stuff around like water, cement, glue. Anything could be made to be self repairing.

I imagine them as becoming everything I ever need

And when I'm done with what I needed them to be, they become what I need next

Is nice, they will be what I need/want them to be

and is scary, when they get smart enough to start deciding what I need
