I'm thinking maybe sounds like the air conditioner or a box fan act as a channel, a way for something unknown to be recorded. In Aug 2012, I had a box fan on while practicing on my acoustic guitar, and was home alone.
When I played back the recording, everything was normal until after I finished. I told my dog I"d go check the mail & during that were whispering voices & immediately a voice like that of an elderly woman said "Check the mail. Mmm hmm" The voice was as if someone's in the room with you having a conversation. That one spooked me a bit and I deleted it. I regretted it later.
