What makes you think they protect me as I've said before I have been a victim of crime from both sides of this paradigm, I have been a victim of crime committed by criminals, and a victim of crime by police, I don't trust either one of them. You assume that I prefer crime committed against me by police as opposed to crime committed against me by criminals, I prefer crime not be committed against me at all.

They are they to protect us all it's there motto jeeze

I guess we have our answer as to whether police would infringe on citizens' rights if given the command.

I'm upset mostly by not seeing any police refusing to take part in this debacle. There may be some - but where are they?

Oh, and if these arrests are as high as is being reported...where are they being taken to? I'm sure the jails are already full.

Ah very good question indeed! Where oh where would they go, I mean there is no way they could have possibly planned for civil unrest!

We are at a very significant point in our history. I do not buy into the doom porn, however TPTB definitely had some doom porn related plans, that in my humble opinion simply will not become reality.

We are at the beginning of a new world, we simply have to go through the birthing pains associated with the coming shift. You will not see the cops that are refusing, however I do believe there are those that are, perhaps in different locations.

Thoughts and prayers with all of those standing in the face of tyranny!

No problem, but like I said I'm working to keep a cool head until I have viable evidence before passing judgement.

Sorry, they are shouting

"Pigs go home"

and

"F*%$ the Police! "

and

"without that badge your a bitch and a half...and F*%$ your momma too..."

also...let's report ALL the truth...

If this was any other country in the world there would already be 15 dead and 72 injured...they are lucky to live in America....

I get the feeling if there were some people who understood tactics this bullying by the police would not be the cakewalk it appears to be. Not that I am advocating violence but I do not think the protesters, who are peaceably and Constitutionally assembling, would be told to move while simultaneously being told their rights were not being violated.

Agreed

True. They got a little nastier pretty quickly. Oh, they're back to it now as i type.

Must say, I am impressed with the restraint of the officers shown so far.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't all this start because a police officer shot and killed an unarmed civilian?

Was the police officer or witnesses interviewed? Why did he shoot the civilian? Was it justified?

The violent looting and destruction of the towns property by certain individuals may have been avoidable if the statutory authorities acknowledged and observed due process in examining the initial incident.

When those questions are blatantly ignored by the police department and instead they roll-out thugs and lock-down the town, WHAT THE HELL DOES THE AMERICAN PEOPLE EXPECT?? Lollipops and gumdrops? Pffft

Any consequential effect resultant from that initial incident is primarily the fault of the police department and to a lesser extent that percentage of civilians carrying out the looting / property damage.

Oh, and the simmering racial tension even since before 1992 has not helped this particular situation either BUT if you make your bed then you can bloody well lie in it.

Wow, this is really getting out if hand isn't it?

Do you think this will go down as one of those pivotal moments in US history?

Is this when people finally say enough?

Enough to what?

People have been rioting, damaging businesses, and looting the past few nights...what do you guys expect to happen?

The thing is, for every death at the hands of the police, the anger grows.
It is not just one person, it is a seeming disturbing pattern over the course of the last year.

It is boiling over in one spot, and perhaps it could trigger more protests elsewhere.

I don't see this as a racial thing as much as a bigger issue that is hitting police departments in many places.
It does have the potential for rioting and anger that spills over into misdirected areas.

It is scary.
And now they arresting reporters, which is scarier.

I hear you Db, I do understand that. I do not agree with them arresting reporters. You know that I am against government authority my friend, it's just that I hope that we can make the right choices when it comes to these racially driven issues because it does seem racial to me, but that is ok if we disagree about that.

Without a doubt people are getting fed up with certain law enforcement agencies nationwide, and rightly so. However, that does not always make the Police in the wrong every single time. ~$heopleNation

I hear them in the live feed asking Obama what he's done. The girl asks where he's been, what he's done for them and shouting that they need him. I wonder if he will come out and condone this show of force or not??

I assure you, I have a lot of experience watching the Taliban and seeing what they are capable of. And I'm not just talking about bullets and bombs either. Logistics as well.

But at some point, you have to fight. Insurgencies have one major flaw no matter the approach. They rely heavily on secrecy, convoluted logistics, and outright terrorism.

It would do more harm than good in many cases if discipline is not exercised. The problem the IRA, the Taliban, and other have is that they lack institutional discipline and training.
