This film might be a bit to cerebral for most ATS members. No car chases, trucks turning into robots, shoot outs, nudity, blood and guts, superheros, and not one incidence of greenscreen cgi.

But what this film did have is a masterful actor and perfect portrayal by Philip Seymour Hoffman may he rest in peace, a fantastic screen play based on a great novel by John Le Carre, impeccable direction by Anton Corbijn and a perfect supporting cast.
I will watch this movie over and over just to see the beautiful cinematography. Extreme narrow depth of field closeups and flat surreal, steadycam establishing shots; perfect for setting the mood for a sophisticated thriller.

"A Most Wanted Man"

Saw it last week. Hoffman did a great job.

Not as good as "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy", but still a good film.

Sad to think there could have been more.

"The Master" with Hoffman and Phoenix was a traumatic film to watch. One of my favorites.
