A Mississippi Tea Party official opened a meeting this week with a prayer calling on God to “be violent against” establishment Republicans.

“We ask for your blessing upon the conservatives in this state, that they might stand strong and firm,” said the state’s Tea Party chairman, Roy Nicholson. “Father, we even ask for you to bless our enemies, and Lord they are truly our enemies that head the Republican Party and the whole political establishment.”

American politics....the best damn show in town.

“We’re asking, Father, for two things,” he said. “We’re asking, Father, that you would expose them, set division amongst them, set them one against another, bring confusion and fear into their camp, into their thinking, for the purpose of pulling them down, for casting them down out of their high offices and reducing them, Lord, to having no power in this state.”

“So, Lord, that you might raise up and seek the righteous in the positions of power that this state might once more be a state that honors you in all that it does,” Nicholson concluded.

Roy, good luck in setting up your T party, Christian theocracy of a punishing and vengeful God. You might get some support.

That's what I was thinking it doesn't mention any violence. But it would help if they learned how to count they ask for two things but it's really four things.

They are asking god to have politicians act like typical politicians.

Does this person know anything about politics?

It's a sad state of affairs when Republicans like Abraham Lincoln and Dwight Eisenhower would be crucified alive by the Right Wing media and Tea Party.

The tea party is the extreme right wing faction within the Republican party.

Republicans are almost good, according to liberal progressives who want bigger government, more government oversight, and more government control.

Tea Party is for smaller government, personal responsibility, individuality.

Establishment republicans are not too different from establishment democrats anymore.

Those prayers sound like a reasonable thing to ask anyone for in light of how corrupt the current GOP is. Half of them are really democrats in disguise, and traitors right along with our treasonous president and his merry band of fools.

Come on Olaru, you can't be trolling or are you?

Your post the other day about Ted Nugent and then this?

Please read carefully the source before you contribute to the division that is already destroying our freedoms!

Truthfully Olaru, neither could I find the word violence in any of the quotes I found. The "violent" was in the RawStory account you linked, but only as the RawStories description of the prayer.

However for me this does exemplify the exasperation created by following belief systems of exclusiveness. This Nicholson cat has made of himself, to himself, a pillar of righteousness. He has taken his absolute belief in his God of Righteousness
and is asking for help from above, which is totally in accordance with the extremes of that religious position.

Or, he is just a dumbxxxx con-man looking to further his own career.

People like them are the reason why I'm more afraid of a Theocracy than a Socialist/Communist Government. At least East Germany has some freedoms compared to a Theocratic Government like Taliban ruled Afghanistan.

Come think of it we are not supposed to bring God into politics!

" Tea Party official opens Miss. meeting with prayer asking for violence against Republicans "

Sounds like the Progressive headliners are getting real desperate lately.

Is this the best they can do to rebut the Conservative stances ?

God forbid they try to debate any issues.

Well this liberal progressive would not call Republicans almost good. And I do not want bigger government, but I certainly want better government. Government should serve as a strong advocate of the power-impaired. We need a dynamic, persuasive influence to balance the playing field.
Power to you and me, not the already powerful.

But that's what happens when you amass power in the hands of the few. Those who want power seek it out to use it. Therefore, you will always wind up concentrating power in the hands of the powerful; it is inevitable.

The only way to solve the problem is to take power out of the system - shrink government and return power to the level of the individual as much as possible. I know that scares a lot of folks because it means your neighbors, with whom you may disagree, get to make their own decisions, but it does mean that you remove a lot of power from the powerful.
