Breaking news from Rudaw, a Kurdish news outlet.

Apparently, a military helicopter transporting aid for the Yazidi people stranded on Sinjar mountain, crashed, killing 1 pilot and injuring 20 other people. Among the flight, were Iraqi officials, including the Kurdish Yezidi MP Vian Dakhil.

It is said that the helicopter had crashed due to a loss of balance, resulting from a technical failure.

Edit: Initial reports suggested it was plane. It has now been confirmed by an Iraq Army spokesman, that a Mi-17 helicopter had crashed instead.
