o it`s all about Western (NATO) imperialism and trying to have a go a at Russia, only not directly. Libia was same deal, China had to evacuated 33.000 Chinese right away, also Russia was involved over there.

Libya would not have happened but for that "Little Twinker" Medvedev for asked Russian team at UN to "NOT VETO" the resolution. I am so surprised that Putin has this fagggggoot as his PM even now. I would take Ivanov or Rogzin any day over that little idiot.

No one is asking Russia to invade Ukraine and get bogged into another Afghanistan. Atleast give better weapons and recognize DPR so that already bogged down Ukes Army itself changes the directions of its guns on Kiev Junta.

Libia would have happened anyway because of the Chinese involvement, Gaddafi booting the petro-Dollar and the upcoming Russian naval base over there. China, Russia and Iran had enough of that crap at some point and have drawn lines for the West (Syria, Ukraine, and probably at other places too which we don`t know of).

Ukraine Refuses to Recognize Russia’s Cargo as Humanitarian Aid – Red Cross

MOSCOW, August 16 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine refuses to recognize Russia’s cargo sent for the residents of the crisis-torn Donbas region in southeastern Ukraine as humanitarian aid, a Communication Officer for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Galina Balzamova said Saturday.

“The trilateral talks are underway. So far, we need to get Ukraine’s consent that the cargo is a humanitarian mission. The agreement has not been reached yet,” Balzamova said.

From your link:

“We still need assurances from all parties to the conflict that our staff will be allowed to perform their tasks safely and with due respect for our humanitarian principles. Given the complex logistics and security challenges involved, this aid operation will take some time and we call on the authorities of both countries to do all they can to resolve outstanding issues quickly,” added Mr Corbaz.

Translation: We really want to deliver the aid but the Ukraine army is still rocket bombing the crap out of the city so we better wait.

Ukraine Recognizes Russian Cargo as Humanitarian Aid – Government Website

The letter with a list of things carried by 280 trucks from Russia and signed by the head of the ICRC regional delegation, Pascal Cuttat, was submitted to the Ukrainian Ministry of Social Policy earlier on Saturday. According to the letter the cargo includes 12 kinds of goods totaling 1,856 tons, which fully corresponds with the weight of the cargo declared by Moscow.

“The receiver of the humanitarian cargo is the ICRC mission in Ukraine. The cargo will be transferred to Ukraine by ICRC representatives through the Donetsk checkpoint,” according to the statement.

Not debunk; confirm. Some of us like to get as close to the source as possible before we take someone else's word.

"The Ukrainian side has proposed holding talks with Russia but Russia refused," Andrei Lysenko said adding that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry would soon issue a statement on the Russian convoy.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has dismissed Russia's decision to give the green light to movement of the humanitarian aid convoy towards destinations on the Ukrainian territory as a "yet another glaring violation of key principles of international law".

Your source.

Can you say "another Russian provocation?"

It was official twitter of ICRC giving the latest update, and you came with update which was outdated, and still trying to defend that...come on, at least try.

No, your post was to an alleged ICRC spokesperson on a Russian site. I confirmed that the ICRC actually made similar statements. Why are you so suspicious when I actually confirm something the Russians say, rather than expose it as a patent lie?

Kiev has been stalling the whole time as being said in this thread before, they have had enough of it and are going in.

If I cited the Voice of America claiming that a Russian source said something, would you:

a) Automatically believe it

b) Automatically believe that it was a lie

c) Go to the original source for confirmation

I always go for (c). Your failure to comprehend this behavior suggests you go with (a) for Russian sources and (b) for American sources.

Ukraine accuses Russia of invasion after aid convoy crosses border

(Reuters) - Ukraine declared on Friday that Russia had launched a "direct invasion" of its territory after Moscow sent a convoy of aid trucks across the border into eastern Ukraine where pro-Russian rebels are fighting government forces.

Moscow, which has thousands of troops close on the Russian side of the border, warned against any attempt to "disrupt" the convoy but did not specify what action it was prepared to take if Kiev's forces intervened.

Kiev, for its part, said Ukrainian forces would not attack the convoy and had allowed it to pass to avoid "provocations".

Ukrainian army firing on humanitarian convoy would be just one more bad move.

their lies are unlike those of Western governments, their lies are naive, stupid, simple and easy to debunk even for an average casual news reader.

I don't think they will be so stupid to fire on humanitarian convoy, would guess CIA advisers will take care that it doesn't happen.

A convoy which hasn't been inspected by Ukrainians and is going to the rebels?

| their lies are naive, stupid, simple and easy to debunk even for an average casual news reader.

Right.

If Putin were sending a "humanitarian convoy" then he'd let it get inspected freely. Since it isn't happening, what does that mean.

Vladimir Putin is both a politician and a KGB man without any significant political opposition or independent journalism. Do you think he has a problem with lying?

On the other hand, mysterious mortar fire by guerrillas who can never be positively identified would be right up Putin's alley.

I'm thinking these supplies will be wanted not just by civilians but by the separatists as well. Mortaring the convoy doesn't seem logical as they can just wait for it to drive in and take it. Which in all fairness may have been Russia's plan to begin with. Which might be an excuse for the Ukrainian army to blow it up first.

Whatever happens one thing is for sure, ALL the propaganda machines will continue working overtime.
