Hi guys and girls, I'm a some-time reader and first time contributor. Currently on a quest to discover the truth about pretty much everything there is, so please forgive if I often come across as noobish. I am noobish. There ok I said it.
I have so much to learn and will try to put in the occasional sensible word here and there. I don't mind being ridiculed for my stand on topics and won't bother asking for anyone to be gentle with me - I got a helmet

I think your opening statement hits the nail squarely on the head, you should fit in here just fine!

Hello and welcome.

Ascention (of any social organization, be it a country, company or religion) is always caused by genius and selflesness.
The resulting success attracts the greedy, who are always incompetent - no exceptions. Then comes the fall caused by aforementioned greedy turds.

I estimate the world would be at least 10,000 years ahead in evolution in all aspects of knowledge and well being of its inhabitantes (human or otherwise) if it wasn't for them.

Unfortunately they seem to be multiplying fast as since they're the ones in power, they get to set the example for young generations.

You will need more than thick skin to work your way through all the claims and counter claims. A lot of research, a good deal of common sense and a bit of gut instinct will also help. It does get tough dealing with all the doubt at times, but there are a few solid facts around to help side step all the social engineering tactics. Welcome and good luck.

Succinct.

Though apparently this thread is an introductory thread and has little to do with the title, you have chosen to flow with the title, as will I. So concerning the example set for the young that you mention.

When I was a teenager my mother and I were watching tv together. On came the commercials. It was the first time I had seen this particular commercial for potato chips. It portrayed a young girl eating from an individual bag of chips. Now in those days, potato chips came only in large bags with chips enough for a party or family gathering. This commercial was not just advertising the chips but the new delivery system, individual bags.

So the little girl is happily eating her chips when other children approach her and want to share the chips. Now, remember, until this time, chips were always shared, as a party custom or family bag type of thing. Well, the little girl makes the protective move of holding the bag close to her body and slightly turns away from the other children and says "these are mine, get your own bag.

My mother went ballistic. Selling crappy un-nutritional junk food was one thing, but teaching children to be selfish was quite another for my mom. And thus began my war with those greedy purveyors of selfishness.

In an organized government, the motivation of self gain outweighs any motivations to establish an altruistic/beneficial government.

Hopefully I'm wrong.
