I hated English and spelling in high school. Now, I am really grateful for spell checkers, and my ability to write and spell properly has improved over time, but I never hold it against someone if they have typos or broken sentences, because I am still guilty of the word crimes myself.

The second you are willing to share your thoughts you should take the time to correct any mistakes out of respect for the reader, especially if you're looking for a response. Most people who read what you write can imply that if you are too lazy to correct your grammar then you are likely to be lazy when doing your research.

sure its important you can understand what a thread actually says but seriously if i spell "anoying" rather than "annoying" you still understand.

as a guy who also has dyslexia i find this very annoying and even at times a little hurtful.

I've always been useless at English and still frequently get my "there" and "their" mixed up, never helps that the auto-correct on my PC is using US-English too. Bit confusing when you spell "colour" correctly then the damn PC is like "No pal it's spelled color".

I don't mind bad spelling and grammar at all and never had a problem with it because I'm pretty poor myself at the best of times, but state sponsored poor spelling... Like for instance spelling honour as honor?

That's just sick and wrong.

Nah but in all honestly it doesn't matter how you spell or write as long as it's intelligible. Time and place has a lot to do with it too, you'll want full and proper English if your filing a report or if you're writing to a newspaper and your letter will be published. But, you don't need full proper English for lets say facebook or any other chatting site. grammar trolls tend to be a bit thick anyways. Language is evolution, yesterdays slang and short hand will be tomorrows words and readily recognized abbreviations.
