Why are you watching that crap so (presumably) late?

Might as well go to another site and read /nosleep. LOL

Okay, I'm toddling off to vote (maybe once, maybe twice, who can say?) for my free phone and my 40 acres.

Oh wait, Georgia is an ID State ... CURSES FOILED AGAIN!

Taa.

*sigh*

I enjoy scary movies when my wee son is asleep.

Don't forget your mule to go with that 40 acres. (why is race always an issue?)

Between 2000 and 2010, there were:

649 million votes cast in general elections

47,000 UFO sightings

441 Americans killed by lightning

13 credible cases of in-person voter impersonation

Source - Mother Jones (let the source-damning begin)

You forgot to add in how many people who could not vote because of voter id-laws.

No I was not making racist comments and am not racist gryphon!! But to whine and say this is going to disenfranchise the black voters they cant afford the cost of the ID or they have to go out of there way to find a govt. office to issue an ID, is just grasping at straws and quite frankly insulting to every race out there!

It is this kind of thinking that has screwed and kept down African Americans everywhere! The idea that we should lower the bar or hey better yet let's not have one because we know that people of a different race are NOT going to be able to live up to that standard is so wrong on so many levels!! Your comment I responded to says just this!

Don't you get it? If you expect people to fail, then they will fail!! How about we make allowances and pad the ground so when they fall it doesn't hurt so much!! Why would anyone ever want to do better? Why would anyone believe that they were capable??

So the only solution is one rule across the board: Govt. issued ID or NO vote! Let the chips fall where they may!

By the way, I love how you tie in right and nut job, for the people that want to exercise some common sense, integrity and have some values in their life! How about some damn equality for a change!!

I wonder why conservatives aren't this enthusiastic when it comes to gun control. I mean it's pretty clear we need more control on who can purchase a weapon.

Awesome point.

Tell you what.

Conservatives give up the voter ID issue and let progressives cheat.

And. . . .

Progressives allow everyone to own a firearm.

Brilliant!

I will sign up. Present an ID and get a gun. I have no problem with that. I would say that is LESS control than what we have currently. So we are agreed then? Just present an ID to ensure you are an actual citizen and then you can buy any gun you want.

Looks like the mental gymnastics have kicked off

In reality conservatives aren't really against big government, in fact they embrace it when it benefits their agenda

No. Conservatives agree you need an ID to vote just to make sure you are a US citizen, and every citizen can vote.

Progressives agree you need an ID to buy a gun just to make sure you are a US citizen, and every citizen can buy a gun.

Sounds perfect.

We already have laws in place, you have to be Alive for one and prove you're an American Citizen or Naturalized Citizen. Have an I. D. and complete a Background Check.
Did you not know any of this?
I mean, we do our best to try and keep criminals from owning guns don't you think we should keep illegals and the dead from voting or people from voting twice in an election?
Like most Democratic voters,,,, just keep on,,, keepin on,,,

Which is a red herring and has nothing to do with the topic.

Also what mental gymnastics, you made a suggestion, I agreed 100% with what you suggested. Sounds like you are mad that you are coming off as unreasonable.

This is my Voter-ID card (it covers local, state and federal elections), I didn't vote one year and they fined me $20.

It blows me away that you can just rock up to a polling booth in the US without ID!!!

For what it's worth I don't think everybody can. I have a voter card as well and I have never been able to vote without showing that card and my ID card. Some may not have to, but I always have.

If I miss voting in a big election then I will have to renew my card before the next big election. There's no fine for it though. Just a PITA.

One of the first excuses for not needing a voter ID law is the lack of previously prosecuted cases of voter fraud.

Who would be wise to the fact that there was fraud in order to prosecute it? The 80 year old ladies running the polling place?
Who would report it?
I have heard that there are relatively few cases of welfare fraud prosecuted. Tell me all about welfare fraud being nonexistent.

Smaller less intrusive government! Lol, quick tell me another conservative lie!

Guess soon everyone will have to keep their long form birth certificates on them at all times for the birther election inspectors.

Me too UK you cant. What we do is make everyone who votes registers on a election register. Its free and all you need is your national security ID. As long as your a UK citizen its no hassle and costs no money and you just turn after that o election day and vote for whoever.

Let's summarize our factual findings:

Voter fraud in the absence of Voter ID = virtually non-existent in EVERY investigation ever conducted. (See Bush II Justice Department, et. al.)

Voter fraud after Voter ID laws have disenfranchised an admittedly unknown percentage of legal voters ... less than miniscule? Super virtually non-existent?

But, yes, let's mix in all the favored right-wingist issues into the pot to distract from the facts ... lessee so far we had illegal immigration, race and now gun control, all issues which, like the actual incidences of "voter fraud" are insignificant in regard to the issue at hand.

When faux conservatives don't get away with direct misrepresentation, they try to muddy the water even further and claim that somehow THEY are actually the victims.

What's next, y'all? Are the evil shadowy progressive-liberal-democrat-communist-socialist-Nazi's going to be kept from conducting the fictitious "War on Christmas" somehow with Voter ID? Might as well toss that in too ...

... makes as much sense as the rest of this crap.

Admittedly unknown means no one can be shown to have been disenfranchised. So why do you use such an inflammatory word? Are they disenfranchised in all the other Western democracies where ID is required?

Here is one case in one county in NC. Just one.

And she had 16 counts against her. I think your source is garbage as is your premise.

Does this mean when the GOP loses again in 2016 they will blame it on I.D. fraud?
