Anyone that knows anything about military power knows you don't want to mess with Israel.
A direct attack by a government will unleash devastation by all UN and NATO members.
So all you have left are terrorist organizations.

There is something else going on here, I personally don't know what it is or even understand why at this point. But some of the sources I've read/spoken to paint a different picture then just Hamas/rocket/Israel/retaliation.

Iran WANTS Hamas to fire the missiles and Hamas WANTS to hit something. But they will not get past the iron dome and anyone with expertise in these systems knows this.

Propaganda can be used in many ways by many different sources.

The tunnels are a great question of interest.
Why spend all that time and money to build tunnels into Israel and then they don't use them to do anything, except one half fast skirmish on IDF forces. Hamas could have put people and bombs all over Israel in the last few months, but they didn't. Instead they shoot missiles that can not penetrate Israeli defenses in which leads to the removal of the tunnels, which I may add Israel knew about for many years now in the intelligence ring.
Ask yourself: why go through all the trouble of building a network of tunnels to use for terror and then don't use them for terror?

at this point i don't understand why Hamas continues , are they looking to keep in the world public view , are they looking to spread the conflict into a more regional conflict against Israel , or is it all they know and if they stop they have to admit that they failed

The way I see it, if Hamas continues to fire missiles they will lose public opinion eventually. Israel has already lost public opinion, which means nothing by the way, since they have unilateral support from allied forces regardless.
So why did this all happen?
That is a question I'm desperately trying to figure out at the moment, for this ties into other aspects of the world and the condition of it right now. A nation state led war against Israel equates to WW3.
Like I alluded to earlier, I really don't care what problems they have had for the past 1000 years. All I care about is when it's going to be at my doorstep.

The tunnels were near completion, but only a couple of them were finished.

If Hamas had successfully completed construction of over 30 tunnels leading into Israel and executed their plans to infiltrate Israel to kill and kidnap hundreds or thousands of Israeli civilians, the current conflict would pale in comparison to the war that would have ensued as a result.

I suppose that might be the only silver lining to this mess.

That's the part I do not understand, the tunnels were completed and have been in some cases for over a year or so. The IDF has known about this from intelligence sources since they started construction. So why would Hamas choose to not use them for what they were initially intended for, unless the tunnels were meant for some other purpose?
Unless they have the terror cells already in place right now, as we speak and are awaiting the command. Or Iran lied to Hamas about the capabilities of the missiles, which seems a far stretch. Or something else is going on moving behind the scenes here.
Hamas are not all a bunch of rogues, they knew if they launched an attack, there would be a retaliation and the tunnels would be destroyed. So why did they build them if they didn't use them? Or did they?

The story is there was a mass attack planned in I think it was September...That's one story anyway...

What has recently come into the news involves the West Bank...Since Fatah has now joined forces with Hamas, there is (and has been) a lot of Hamas activity going on in the West Bank...Just this week a couple of very high ranking politicians(?) were arrested along with their co-horts for collecting millions of dollars and weapons for a surprise attack against Israel from the West Bank...Israel is now searching for tunnels in the West Bank...

In my view, if Israel is to survive, the Palestinian presence has to be eliminated...

Jed, you won't win on here with the majority being Palestinian sympathizers who swear they are always the victims. Even though Hamas has broken the last two ceasefires, people on here will claims that the Israelis somehow fired the rockets from Gaza. People won't also accept the fact that they are using civilians as human shields. Israel uses rockets to protect it's people while Hamas uses people to protect it's rockets. Face it, they've been warring for the past few millenia, and will be fighting this fight for thousands of more years.

Why can't they just eliminate Hamas? and leave the Palestinians alone?

Actually that is a bad question because after Israel bombed and killed all those innocent Palestinian people set up by Hamas, to begin with, Palestinians will probably not want Hamas to leave due to all the revenge they will feel swelling in their blood. They may now even want other extremist groups to come and join the fight against Israeli oppression.

Why can't Israel just give the Palestinians the Gaza Strip?
Obviously they don't really care too much about it after blowing half of it up.

As I stated earlier, I really don't care, I see them all the same now. Still just wondering about what is happening behind the scenes though and how it will effect all those other innocent people in the world.

It is the most prosperous country in the middle east for Jews, Muslims, and Christians, and the only thriving democracy.

The only reason it is a prosperous country is because of all the foreign aid it receives from other nations. Cut all that aid off and watch it's economy drop like a rock.

You sound like that guy in the Israeli government that wants to round up Palestinians and put them into camps. Would you like to have tattoos put on them also so none of the won't sneak back in or do you just want to kill everyone? And you support the nation that whines about Hitler every chance it gets.

They did just that in 2005, they pulled out all the Jewish settlements from Gaza strip, giving the Palestinians the right to choose their own course of evolution. One year later Hamas seized control of Gaza strip.

Israel doesn't really wish to eliminate Hamas actually, because of a fear that a more extreme jihadist group such as ISIS will take over Gaza strip. They prefer a beaten up Hamas than a growing Al-Qaeda branch right next to them.

Sad story, but so is the middle east.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Israel is one of the most innovative countries in the world with respect to technological and medical research and development, and their economy is very stable. Israel isn't a 2nd or 3rd world country who's livelihood depends on foreign aid.

Yes, the U.S. has given Israel financial assistance to bolster it's military because the U.S. considers Israel a key ally in the region, but that has no bearing on the economy or the overall standard of living afforded to Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Israeli citizens.

My fault, what I meant was: why don't the Israelis give the land over to the Palestinians permanently, no strings attached. Treat them like any other independent country. Then if the Palestinian state tries to do what they are trying to do to Israel now, no one will question the IDF, Israel or the many other countries from blowing them off the face of the earth!

I'm afraid I may have over simplified this again. . .

Again, they did just that with Gaza strip. Gaza was never an open air prison it is now, the blockade started in 2007, two years after Israel got out of there and considered Gaza as an independent country. They had elections (which Hamas has won) and since 2007 rockets have reached not only to small villages around Gaza strip, but they reached cities dozens of kilometers away.

This was all expected, and even then people asked the same question: "Why can't they just get out of Gaza, and if Hamas will continue to fire rockets then they'll get the legitimization to blow them off".

Yes, history repeats itself. Israel will never give back more territories, unless the people will finally seek peace rather than Jihad.

That's was the initial problem I alluded to, Israel didn't leave them alone except for 2 years, which in the scale of a new country is nothing. Israel needs to remove the blockades, the border issues, etc. and then let the country go what ever direction the Palestinians take it even if it's Hamas that takes over. Then if the Palestinians/Hamas get out of hand, they will pay for it and have the weight of the UN on its back also. Palestinians that live there will need to make a choice to stay with Hamas or flee, this innocent civilian killing will continue but it will be for the people, by the people then, if you get my drift.
When Israel tried to police this situation, they became prison guards for a group of people instead. That never works and fuels dissidence and hatred through oppression. Hamas has nothing to lose here and it is almost impossible to fight an enemy like that in a fist fight. If Israel wants to win this, give Hamas a face (i.e. their own country), then they can break it and have global support doing it too!

well , here we go again . the 72 hour cease-fire was ended when 45 rockets were launched from Gaza into Israel . Once again Hamas does not want peace, if there was peace there would be no need for Hamas

Israel carries out strikes on Gaza after rocket fire resumes

At least 45 rockets were fired at Israel after the cease-fire expired Friday morning, the Israel Defense Forces said. Most of the rockets hit unpopulated areas, but one moderately injured a civilian and lightly injured a soldier, the IDF said.

I hope the people of Palestine get tired of this and get rid of Hamas so there can be a lasting peace in the region

Wow!

wake up people...deny ignorance

I hate threads like this, Hamas are clearly a pro israeli group, Palestinians want peace israel don't, they want the rest of Palestine ...not much of it left but israel won't do peace until it is no more!

Hamas was created by israel to avoid peace...that simple!

Also, Voting!...Ha...If voting made a difference they wouldn't let you vote

Don't let a democratical election fool you anywhere in the world, they can still be controlled by tptb on many levels

You know what I find to be EXTREMELY odd about this whole thing? Why do these 'rockets' never seem to hit anything important? You'd think that statistically speaking, that they'd aim for actual places of interest? Why 'rockets' to begin with? There are many many more effective IED's out there if they just wanted to kill people. Logic dictates that there is a reason why these so-called rocket attacks never really do that much damage, and it's probably because they aren't supposed to. Let that roll around your heads for a bit.

I think you are right.

The man and the dog actually ARE working together...

Howard Nema covers the rising conflict in Gaza and exposes the truth about Hamas, that was created by the Israeli Mossad to counter Yasir Arafat resulting in decades of "blowback" also known as false flag terror.

The way I see it, this whole dilemma poses a duel threat. One, from the New World Order elitists and their genocidal collectivist goals and two, the threat of Islam, who interestingly enough endanger the oligarch's goal of a one world totalitarian socialist government and one world New Age religion. Unless of course, they are working together and I indeed do believe they are. The Muslim Brotherhood along with the CIA and MOSSAD spawned al-Qaida and Hamas as opposition groups. This fact is indisputable.

The Brotherhood's doctrines make up the core of the terrorist jihad conducted by organizations such as Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the government of Iran. Its agendas have been crystal clear since its creation of its intentions: infiltration, subversion and global terror with world conquest as the goal." In fact, communism and Islam are very similar. You could say they are one and the same since Islam is first a law of State, Sharia Law, as is communism. HN Note: The Illuminati forged the concept of communism during the French Revolution.

Hamas was created by TPTB.

MOSSAD is NOT Israel anymore than the CIA is America.

The problems stem from the people hiding BEHIND the façade of Governments.

"Governments do not govern, but merely control the machinery of government, being themselves controlled by the hidden hand." ~ Benjamin Disraeli; Prime Minister of England

“Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.”— Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States
