It's not that simple.

The Palestinians in Gaza may have legitimate grievances regarding the tight security measures on their borders with Israel and Egypt, but those measures were put in place as a result of decades of terrorist attacks in Israel, well before the missile attacks began several years ago.

The root cause of the conflict stems from the belief that Israel does not have a right to exist, and that doctrine has been instilled in the mindset of every generation by a litany of fanatical regimes, and reinforced in the aftermath of several military conflicts.

Based on the current circumstances, if Israel was to lift the blockade and ease security measures on the Gaza border, it would be suicide, and the Israeli government learned that lesson the hard way many times in the past.

The bottom line is, if the leadership of Gaza renounces violence and accepts the State Of Israel, the two sides will be able to work towards a two state solution.

Incoming responses:

A) "They didn't really mean that. What they meant was..."
B) "Well, what choice do they have? Why wouldn't you fight against the evil Zionists?"
C) "Freedom Fighters only killed 6 people with rockets this year. Perfectly safe. Why is Israel bothering to retaliate?"
D) "The evil Zionists had it coming."
E) or maybe "Ma'an News is a Zionist propaganda machine." lol

Pretty good list of the responses you get from the hate filled people here.

Part of the problem is, that many of those calling foul on the evil "zionists" and excusing the behavior of Palestinians are not old enough to remember the constant barrage of suicide bombings and attacks by Hamas and others from decades ago. The main reason you do not see those civilian buses blowing up these days with 30 or 40 civilians (and children) as victims is because travel has been extremely limited and blockades are in place. Since building walls, since placing the travel restrictions and since the blockade it has been pretty damned quiet until this latest conflict.

The have not seen the interviews of parents of Palestinians who are (were) proud of their eldest child who blew himself up to take out a few jews.. and then wishing the rest of their children would follow in his footsteps. How effing sick is that?
