Christian broadcaster: Ebola could cleanse US of atheists, gay people, and sluts

When I first heard about this story, all I could do is just shake my head.

Then I started to think and here is the question that I don't think that any of those on the Christian right would like to answer or care to but here goes:

As Ebola is a devastating disease, that can kill many, and as it affects those in Africa, then the question must be asked of these pastors and ministers who believe that such could be a good thing the following:

If Ebola and all of the other natural disasters happens to be a punishment from God, then what all is it for? After all most punishments, there is an offense of some kind. But if it is for the offense of homosexuality as they would suggest, then perhaps the question could be better asked this way:

Why is this hitting the west coast of Africa? In countries, where the religious belief is predominately Christian, and where there are laws that seem to be written for the outright persecution of homosexuals, where a person could end up in jail, prison or dead for being accused of, it not proven to be a homosexual, why are those countries hardest hit by this terrible disease and other disasters?

It seems right now the only group that seems to be suffering the most are Christians. Now if this a message from God, and the group being affected are Christian, then maybe they are doing something wrong that ticked off God.

Or better yet, it could cleanse us of religious zealots and fundamentalists.

If Ebola rids America of sluts, then how will preachers like Jimmy Swaggart get their kicks?


If Ebola stops child porn, then how will Rabbis get their kicks?


Catholic priests?


Politicians?

Liberia is 85% Christian. If his god wanted to wipe out atheists, why aren't all the poverty-stricken and plague-ridden people in Sweden or one of the other largely irreligious nations?

Last I checked, Sweden is doing pretty well.

Well now we HAVE to find a cure, and fast.... No way you can take all the sluts away.... I wont let this happen.

Good question. Rationality doesn't really apply to people who actually believe that. According to the bible, god has punished humanity and innocent groups of people for the actions of those that have nothing to do with them on multiple occasions. These guys actually believe that every time a soldier dies in action, it is because of America's policy of allowing homosexuals to join the military. It's logical to them because they believe in a ridiculous version of god that created "original sin" to forever screw man and all his decedents over one bad decision made by Adam. They also believe in the literal version of the flood story where god drowns the entire world (along with billions of plants and animals) at once minus a few chosen survivors, because of the actions of a small amount of people whom he created knowing well ahead of time that they would disobey.

It's logical for them because they literally FEAR god. They think he is an angry vengeful entity that gets jealous if people don't worship him and tortures them for eternity for not blindly believing in him without even offering a shred of evidence to suggest he's not just a myth like the other thousands of gods that man has invented.

Huzzuh. Seriously though, people like this are the reason why people are starting to hate organized religion.

WEll since China hates everyone and the vaccines all come from there now, it is possible Ebola infection (among others)could be spread through a vaccine.

China keeps hitting the news with their sick and infected chickens used for human consumption, what is the percentage of contamination's in unregulated pharmaceuticals?

Sad part of this story is that many Christian funda-mentals do believe that they will be protected from Gods wrath on earth, and any people who would otherwise succumb to this virus were just not right with the Lord in the first place.

However if 'certain' chosen people die of the disease, then it is Gods way of welcoming them home...

Weird.
