More from the "You just can't make this **** up department"

A Christian radio host who enthusiastically looks for signs the world will end welcomed the Ebola virus as a cleansing force.

“This Ebola epidemic could become a global pandemic and that’s another name for plague,” said broadcaster Rick Wiles on his “Trunews” program.

“It may be the great attitude adjustment that I believe is coming,” Wiles continued. “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography, and abortion.”

Wait there's more....

Wiles was enthusiastic Tuesday about the arrival of Ebola, but Right Wing Watch reported that he warned the previous day that President Barack Obama may intentionally spread the deadly virus through a mandatory and mysterious vaccine.

That would somehow then allow Obama to declare martial law and force Americans into FEMA camps, the religious right broadcaster theorized.

What a fantastic method to lead people to Christ! [Sarcasm] I have to tell when I'm being sarcastic now. Apparently this doesn't work

Perhaps Rev. Rick doesn't quite understand the way a virus works. Not really surprising I guess, considering the source.

I am sure all Christians agree with this mans statements. Just like all Muslims are terrorists. Not worth posting in my admittedly humble opinion.

... and Christians, hypocrites, and buttholes.

You just gotta love some of the ways people show their true colors.

Or ... on the other hand ...

Very much worth posting as we can see just how extreme the lunatic fringe of Christianity can be ...

(For all those who deny the hateful, violent strands that run through American Christianity)

Good to keep our eyes on ALL extremists, whichever comic book they're reading, ...

In my not so humble opinion...

Agreed. This certainly isn't the kind of man I would want to fellowship with. Rubbing your hands together in glee all but hoping something like this would happen is sick beyond words IMO.

People like him give genuine seekers after Christ a bad reputation - I'm so sick of hearing about the latest bigoted nonsense from people who wrongly claim the name of the Master.

I think America is ripe for judgement, so I wouldnt rule out Ebola as a possible avenue for divine discipline, but by no means do I believe that Christians would be magically exempt from discipline. As a Christian, I will say that we are equally, (if not more responsible) for the corruption in this nation, as are the atheists, homosexuals, immoral, "fill in the blank"...

We should not be so quick to judge who will recieve the punishment, lest we be judged ourselves by the measure at which we judge others.

"Pro-life" : Save the embryo that might agree with my meme. Once they are born and don't agree with my meme? They should be exterminated.

Why not? The Old Testament is full of this exact logic. over and over and over.

yeah i think he is forgetting that those two people brought into the US suffering from it were christian MISSIONARIES. so it would seem your religion, sexual orientation, world view etc. have nothing to do with it at all.

The OP did not use the word "sluts." If you follow the link the Raw Story article, there is a clip from the show that you can listen to yourself. What this nutjob radio evangelist said was, "solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography, and abortion."

A "slut" is somebody who is.... sexual promiscuous?

This guy and anyone who agree's with his hate filled rhetoric is definitely not a Christian, sorry but that is not love thy neighbour of turn the other cheek, that is hatred and evil rotting in a man's heart and he need's to purge it and accept that Jesus is the Judge not him, not the bible but JESUS himself.

There are sadly many good people whom had died because of this type of rhetoric in the past, pogrom's against Jew's and other minority's were often whipped up by a loud mouthed anti christ in a cassok telling people to purge the unclean, well Jesus said first take the plank out of your own eye before you point out the beam in your brother's, in other word's judge no one for he who judges will surely be judged.

Considering the majority of Americans are professed Christians, it would seem that if America is ripe for judgement, then your own bible tells us where judgement always begins...
1Peter 4:17

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18

Made me laugh and the best Avatar on ATS by the way, To quote "A Man does not light a lamp then hide it under a bushel", God made beauty to be seen, "It is not what goes into a man that Corrupt's him but (what issues from his heart) come's out of him", so a pretty girl is just that a sight to ease the heart and bring a smile.

But if the man then in his own mind invent's all kind's of perverse scenario's (Guilty here like most other men I am afrain in an online confession) such as wondering what she look's like naked or thinking even more intimite idea's and suffering the usual physiological reaction that accompany's it, well that is fairly natural but if he then act's in some on that or is thinking much more complicated and lustful thought's then inside he has corrupted himself, that nature was always there within Him and she is not in any way at all guilty of any of that so you can be certain this man calling woman slut's is most likely one of the worst offenders out there in his own mind.

He is deflecting his own internal immorality (and who know's what goes on behind his closed door's) upon the woman which is a sin in itself and against the teaching of Jesus christ.
